You're forgetting that The Shard from mirror's edge 1 exists in real life. It's also in an area of london that's getting to be known as The View, just like in catalyst, thanks to the pushing of the corporations. What a coincidence.

Make one building like that, they all have to be changed to give it that mirrors edge look, but I believe if any city would do it would be Dubai, their city already offers some high tech advancement that a lot don’t have. I think most cities could do it, it’s just whether or not they have the funding to redesign the the building. Just look at how the one of the Twin Towers in NYC got a huge overhaul, but is surrounded by outdated architectural designs leading back a few hundred years ago. The Tower was a symbol so they immediately re-did it and gave it a more future like look, the others probably won’t get that treatment unless they are damaged or destroyed unfortunately.

Downside is, these spaces don't look "lived in". They look like they're fresh out of the showroom, all shiny and clean. Where's the mess of paper on desks? Where's props like trash bins, computers, all that stuff? Many of these breathtaking rooms have me wondering why they even exist. What do people DO there? It's style over substance. They exist, of course, to look pretty.

The city looks like a dreamscape. Solar Fields is made for this.

35:15 plays in Kruger's apartment before you hack the computer. How many of us looked at all the pristine tables, at that kitchen and that Anansi fridge and wished the same for ourselves?

yea and it pisses me off because i don't why they would play the best parts of the song towards the shortest segments of some missions lol. I noticed the same thing in Back in the game and other mission which I can't remember.

Kill Zone Shadow Fall was also years ahead of its time, game still look flawless then most games that are out now, wish more developers would spend time on games and make them masterpieces like Mirrors Edge was

Do you know that there's Mirror's Edge: Catalyst that came out in 2016?

If that's how future will look like, I would want to be there. Only if there was more green but this place (museum) is HEAVEN. So pure, white, minimalistic yet absolutely stunning. Mirror's edge catalyst ambience videos are my favourite in this channel

Well if there's anything us Scandinavians know, it's minimalism... On a serious note, when will people start realising Glass is not meant to be utopian?! It's DYSTOPIAN, a city that's shining on the surface, rotten underneath! A city where people sacritice comfort and wealth for freedom and what is right! It's modern-day China and Russia, basically. Albeit less so Russia than China, as Russia is considerably less wealthy

I don't know why, but the beginning almost made me cry of how hauntingly serene it was

Glass is spectacular. I may not get traditional abstract art but Mirrors Edge is an artwork master piece. Can you imagine what it would be like in VR haha. Also look for Mirrors Edge Ray Tracing, will not disappoint ;D

I've always wanted to be in that world even atleast for a week. Just want to admire how beautiful that city is. Props to the devs!

As usual, another fantastic hour of music. I'm pretty sure my highest playtime is on your channel. Catalyst and DEHR are constantly playing at work, at night, in the car. You're doing fantastic work that gets me through the day, thank you and keep it up!

I've listened to this at least 50 times so far while working. Amazing stuff for focus.

The original Mirrors Edge has so much nostalgia for me. I haven't really been able to play Catalyst, but can I just say as a side - I'm going through a really tough time right now in life and these videos have brought me so much peace. I put them on to relax and to watch and to dream of a different place when I just need to mentally escape. Thank you so very much for making such beautiful videos. 😌

The original's way better for sure, I still get nostalgic feelings I can't fully explain even just thinking about that game that I just don't get with Catalyst! That said, Catalyst isn't TERRIBLE, the world is very, VERY pretty (as evidenced by this video) and Solar Fields's music is even better than for the original (I didn't think so for the longest time, until I finally had an "epiphany") but beyond that there isn't much reason to play Catalyst, at least not more than once. I mean they didn't even get Jules de Jongh back to voice Faith, she was Faith imo!

One could only imagine what astonishing view it would be if this game is shipped a few year later and have some degree of ray tracing support.

i wish there is an architect out there who want to make a whole house or at least a studio apartment and use mirror edge style design.

There are many architects out there that do this, it’s just whether they have the funding for the design, some houses in Hollywood Hills have the look, houses too. Definitely looks out of place compared to other buildings around it but, they’re out there.

If only EA would understand what fans want and made this masterpiece into an amazing franchise

I wish they would have done something different with the story of this game. The visuals and atmosphere together was something to behold but the voice recordings and cutscenes were so awkward and stilted. It's a shame this games dialogue Didn't unfold more like a blade runner movie. I mean they're clearly ridding the band wagon of a few scifi movies with this second release 😅😏

They had plans to do more with the game in terms of story and also DLC! But, EA canned all of their ideas and gave them a harsh reality and deadline. Basically Catalyst wasn’t even supposed to happen but, EA figured they’d give it a chance, though since the sales of Catalyst wasn’t good any future planning would also be stripped away. That’s why this game feels empty and un-finished. Basically you can look up why the game became what it was on google for a more broader explanation

I don't think a free camera mode can be done in the first Mirror's Edge anymore. Too bad as I think that game's soundtrack is slightly better than Catalyst.

Back then I was using a 1080 Ti at 1440p with resolution scaling up a bit and everything on Hyper, but I was also using a ReShade back then, not exactly which shaders I had on, nothing too drastic honestly. Clarity probably and some other things. If you have an Nvidia GPU you can toy with the Nvidia Game Filter settings as they act similar to ReShade if you don't want to mess with ReShade and shaders.

Yeah I'll take liberty, justice and freedom over a pretty facade, thanks! And in doing so, I am on the side of Faith and most of the runners, yet sadly depressingly few of the commenters on this video who seem to think "city pretty, therefore city good and me want to live there". It's seriously impressive how few of ME's players, including many of its avowed "major fans", are happy to ignore the VERY obvious social- and political commentary the games make, and perhaps especially the first one, where we find out her parents were literally killed protesting this oppressive regime. Is it not telling of the times we live in that people don't seem to get or understand all this?
