About Ghatu Dance
Ghatu is the sad love tale of King Pashramu and Queen Yambawati, the monarch of the Central Hills, is portrayed in the musical dance form known as ghatu. It is thought that while out hunting, Pashramu fell in love with Yambawati, and the two of them were married. They give birth to a child, but King Pashramu is slain during another hunt. The full moon night, when the madal, another Nepali folk instrument, is beating, is the ideal occasion to tell this tragedy's story. The sorrow and suffering of Yambawati, who drowns in sadness and leaves behind everything-her kingdom, her son, and finally her life-is the dance's conclusion. For hours, dancers shake while they perform. They're clothed in Gurung traditional garb and the rituals begin in Jan.The dance goes for the week.
