@@dahlgalai my theory: All players need to finished the games and they were hypnotized that there were wild animals there but the reality is they're just being fooled and the path where they can hear the roaring sound is the way to clear the game. The king of hearts in my theory is basically a lion (king of the jungle).

I think what’s really brilliant about this scene is that this can really happen in the heads of people that block out intense trauma. Your brain will do anything to protect you from the truth and real memories, including lying to you.

@@underworldmark4922 yea but in the Live Action they didn't show that arisu and usagi drank that tea. Mira just use Arisu's trauma to manipulate Him very well. I still believe that if that was Chishiya, he would basically realized the queen's specialty. Also, that game with the scale game or the King of Diamonds game if im not mistaken gave him motivation to live so he will not mess around and just finished the game. We all know Chishiya is the best when it comes to observing everyone. Good plot tho lol. Chishiya will basically finish that and will make the Queen questioning her life instead of Him lol.

The fireworks they saw was actually a meteor, It is shown and explained that all the main characters died for 1 minute but my theory is that all of people who was affected by the meteor had all died for one minute, but instead of dying off immediately they were transported into borderland for 1 minute which felt like a eternity to the people, the games are trials to see if you would live or die and those had died in the borderland die in the real world but even if you had survived in the borderland, fatal injuries such as losing a leg in borderland will cause you to lose a leg in the real world, But here’s another theory what if borderland is one of many places where the dead live, in the end they ask if you want to stay or go back to the old world, in the end we never saw those who chose to live in borderland again, so my guess is that borderland is somewhat a heaven

I apologize if I somehow read your comment wrong and I'm just repeating something, but my theory, or my understanding of the final episode, is that the borderlands is an entirely different world where those who are on the verge of death (not limited to the victims of the meteorite incident) go and survive death games, which is them fighting for survival in the real world. If you die in the borderlands, that's you failing to live and is officially dead irl. Those who doesn't want to return to their world are now dead because they lost their will to live, become citizens, thus making them the next game makers for future victims. Those who fought hard, wanting to live again, succeeds in fighting their coma and wakes up. All this happened in one minute, since it's clear that time works differently in both worlds.

Miss Riisa Naka is an amazing actress. She is gorgeous and very charming and talented. Her acting was very convincing.

Manga Mira and Actress Mira looks identical she's really born for the role

As someone who was getting tired of death games (as since the genre was really hyped) this series did a great job in reminding us to enjoy the moment and life. The whole message is - we look for meaning rather than live and enjoy life.

All the actors do well enough with their roles, but Hearts nailed it. She overshadowed the main characters.

Good chunk of non-manga reader theories were sort of like the troll explanations by Mira. I'm so glad they went the meteorite route, it was so unexpected, and the answer to what is the borderland was so obvious(limbo/purgatory basically). Imo, S3 is unneeded, the Joker basically seems like a supernatural being of Death, testing *deathapplicants on their will to live. Joker could be Greek Thanatos or maybe a lesser god like Chiron who was bored and created these games for the laughs.

I do agree. The last thing left to do is reveal who created the Borderland, I mean...probably God, but I doubt that introducing God would be as interesting as us wondering what sort of God would need to create this place. Maybe give us a Jabewocky. Or the reveal that Arisu is "God" another version of him.

The point she is trying to make is that there is no point understanding what borderland is, because it can be anything. The book eventually explained a meteor hit Tokyo and that’s the firework everyone saw. Borderland is the place between living and dead, people who complete the game are given the choice to go back alive or stay at the in between world. The ones didn’t make it through the game really died. I don’t think everyone was from the meteor incident, otherwise they would all be loaded in at the same time.

Time flows differently in Borderland than in the real world. Like one second in real life could mean a whole year in Borderland, so whoever that were closer to the metorite explosion will come to Borderland first. Arisu and his friends were right next to each other so they came at the same time.

My interpretation is Residency- no will to live IRL, maybe nobody to come back to, or genuine psychos who enjou the games too much DENY residency- only those who are willing to fight for survival, and some lucky few who skirted the games but still get to decide to live The Joker basically allowed the tourists to decide for themselves in through a journey of self-discovery. Unlucky ones though just get shot and denied that chance lmao, which is still realistic as in real life, sh*t happens

how are you so dense. The borderland is literally the borderland aka limbo. They're neither in hell or heaven or death or alive. The Joker put them in a survival world to test whether who is deserving to live again in their real lives. The Joker only interferes when an unfortunate and undeserving death occurs en masse that's why he prepared the Borderlands for them to have a shot of second chance

Nah Fr I got scared watching episode 7 because I started questioning my own existence cuz of her. And then when they went back to the real world I was happy … until it showed that the game was them deciding to live after the meteor and they don’t know each other I started questioning life even more 💀💀

Just to clarify Borderland is like a place where they were placed to do the games for them to continue to live on or die in the real world. And one comment from an explanation video about what really is the ending said that those who chose to be a citizen stays in a coma as they just chose to continue playing for their lives. Not dying neither waking up in the real worlds.

The truth is that the fireworks he saw was actually a meteor, and this meteor fell in Shibuya. all the people who were in the borderland, were people whose hearts stopped and were playing to fight for life or death. these weeks they spent there in the borderland, in fact it was only a minute, that their hearts had stopped.

My guess is borderland is somewhat like a purgatory. Bad people are sent to hell, good people to heaven and some people get to stay behind and work for borderland. Finally, some people get revived. It would make sense that people who get revived lose their memories of purgatory.

The only good ending I've ever seen on a Battle Royale style manga / story / movie. Is such a genius move that right before the end you dont even know what's real and what's not. The manga panels for this bit was like a bad trip, the deception of Arisu's trauma was brutal

ok, am I the only one who would have loved to see chishiya play the Queen of hearts game? I think that when he heard that mira was lying he would have done his own mind tricks on her because that's both of their best skills. mira would have gone on to arisu about the fate of the world while chishiya is there in the back yawning because he's knows its all fake and would have noticed then camera, he'd use his time then to think of a believable story and then retaliate because in truth neither of them would know and she'd be left in shock. mind games are both mira and chishiya's speciality except they use it in different ways while trying to accomplish the same goal, they both want to win to stay alive. chishiya plays mind games to out smart his opponents and ultimately win, while mira on the other hand uses them to weaken her opponents and strike them when they can't do anything. going off that I'd say it's highly possible that mira and chishiya beat the games in the same way when they were both players except their different sides are reflected through the choice to stay by mira and the choice to leave made by chishiya. Two completely different people but the same ideals.
