You can also find many of the seeds to the making of Shaun of the Dead in his earlier series Spaced. You can teel he SO wanted to make a zombie movie.

I love that this concept is being turned into a movie. Though part of me kind of wants to see what the movie would have been like with this cast.

Matt Berry would have been a great addition, he's awesome. I also would have liked to have seen Simon Pegg, and Richard Ayoade in it but, the only way to include all those people would have been if the video jumped back and forth from the robbery in the bank to Noel in the car.

baby driver is a film about a getaway driver who uses music to be the best in the game, but he wants out after meeting the love of his life. It's the idea Edgar Wright originally shelved and he resurrected the beginning of it as the basis of this music video. Baby driver has since been made and is due for release summer 2017. It's just had a film festival premiere and the reviews are excellent.

After eight years, you only have two replies with alternative suggestions. Maybe after TikTok and no w YT shorts, attention-spans generally aren't up to the job of appreciating "I think you'll find that was more like three minutes". I would add the video "Born Again Teen" by Lucius. I really enjoy that too. From laundry baskets to angel wings for a cab-share journey. Quite a ride. (Not the pared-down economy of Edgar Wright's work for Blue Song, but definitely still worth a watch.)

julian barratt is so very much underrated, next to glittery Noel you barely notice that they are both handsome handsome men

I love that the opening scene of Baby Driver is a complete throwback to this. Absolutely brilliant touch. If you keep your eyes peeled during the film, a shot from this appears a little bit later for a split second too. ;)

It definitely was good but maybe not movie of the year. It has some amazing scenes, such as the the scene that was based off this music video but others were just lacking something. Also don't get me wrong Edgar Wright can be a great director, we saw that in his cornetto trilogy but in my opinion baby driver could have been directed by almost any above average Indy director - it was missing some of his special sauce so to say. The ending was a bit of a let down too - fitting but definitely a let down. I know that it was fitting for the character not to always win and sacrifice something for love but I would much rather have had a fairy ending with baby driving away with the girl, a badass car and of course a lot of cash. But I would recommend people to go see it however as it one of the few good movies in cinema currently.

I really don't get why some people want to smack the main character for no reason.. the only one I'd smack is bats for being an asshole... I feel like the ending itself is good for me, it's poetic.. see how the teller quoted dolly parton "Everybody wants happiness. Nobody wants pain. But you can't have a rainbow without a little rain" And the last heist there's a rain, it's where baby said he "moved" to overcome risk getting pain to reach that happiness... and after baby's sentence there's a rainbow after that... This whole movie is art and music.. If he didn't get sentenced and get a fairy happy ending, I wouldn't feel the same enjoyment as I feel now...

Noel and Julian .... always a great team. It's worth mentioning tho - that the lyrics of this very catchy song are derived from a Captain Beefheart track called 'Ah feel like Ahcid' , off the album 'Strictly Personal' , from way back in 1968. Well worth checking out.

Here's the problem: you're just looking at songs about ass and titties and thinking "Oh my god they're all about ass and titties, how awful. Oh well I guess if this is all there is I better keep looking." At some point you're going to have to consider making a choice to look at other things. And there's lots of other things. You may just have to look harder, with a little more initiative. Or you could look at the constant barrage of old ass and titties over the last 40 years and think "damn at least we do it in better quality" cause ass and titties is not something that suddenly started happening this year and was definitely present during the time of Mint Royale (this was 2002, the year of Pussycat Dolls and "Don't Cha", and had reached a point that in 2003 Benny Benassi could satirise it/exploit it to phenomenal levels with "Satisfaction.")

How have I never seen this before? What a triumph of directing! Of tunes? Of Noel's hardcore rockin' soul moooooves? Music perfectly matched to the visuals. I'll have that song in my head next time I'm chilling in the car waiting for a mate, regardless of what my mate is doing with that briefcase. ESPECIALLY if they're doing that with a briefcase. Oh, I loved it.
