What can I say. If you ask me who my favorite act from the 90s were, it’s Mint. Don’t get me wrong, I love Boyz II Men, Jodeci, 112, etc..., but there is something special about this band. I’m a 95 baby, but discovered them watching those 90s countdown music videos on BET in Middle school. I listened to all their discography back in 2016 and they’re exceptional when it comes to musicianship. I love the fact that they wanted to stay a band and play live music back then. They each brought something amazing to the band. Saw them at B.B Kings in 2016 as well and they tore it down. Yea Stokley may not be able to hit those high notes anymore but he knows how to work with his voice and he’s a better drummer and percussionist. This band was so overlooked and it’s makes me angry thinking about how they never received their flowers. That BET tribute wasn’t that great like 2 years back because it was just Stokley and no Mint Condition. They need a VERZUS with Tony Toni Toné. This video showed up on my recommended and I just had to watch it. Their sound was so eclectic for that time. From 39:28-39:48 just shows you Stokley is a musician. They also had some great rock songs on their albums. ‘Sometimes’ is a good one, but ‘I Wonder If She Likes Me’ and ‘Leave Me Alone is my favorite. ♥️♥️♥️♥️✨ you can tell they studied and mastered their craft. #minthead

The first time I heard these young cats, I was blown away…the musicianship, the talent and man do they project like no tomorrow!!! If I’m not mistaken, Stokley was the original drum for Mint Condition and for some reason, the bands first frontman and lead vocalist left the group! This prompted the band to have a need for a lead vocalist…hence Stokely coming out from behind the drums to begin the lead vocals. As great as he is vocally…not to make light of his roll as a drummer. He was and still is a killer drummer, but with his vocal skills, it was inevitable, he’d become the singer, songwriter, producer he is today.🕶🥁🎵🎼🎶🎭

#minthead

@@johncampbell5929 vocally? Nah. I love stokley to death but he can’t sing those earlier songs the way he once did and obviously that’s expected considering he’s in his early 50’s. So to say vocally he’s still in his prime isn’t accurate

MC is my band. I love their energy and skills. I also love their business sense and that they share everything equally no matter who wrote the song. That speaks volumes when it comes to longevity. Thanks Bridget for this upload it was awesome.

Yezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!! This was everything!!! 🙌🏾 nice addition to my lunch hour
On a whole different level right here. MC best band ever💜🤝💜🤝💜🤝
DOPE!!! I'm sittin' here speechless. "Old School" will always be the 'Ish!!!

Jeff looks older here than he does now with the dreads. I love Change Your Mind especially live. When I first bought that cd I couldn't stop listening and still can't.

I L💗VE this look on Stokely 😍!! It just looks "like him." Like, if I heard him b4 I ever saw him (which was the case), THIS 👆🏾 is how I would imagine he would look --- very eclectic.
Heard a live "single to mingle" version on disk. Finally seen em perform it...omg 🔥 🔥
i remember when this aired on Planet Groove, I actually recorded this on VHS and I still have it to this day! iconic performance!!
There's really nothing else to say...Mint Condition, "The Goats"!!
The powers that be should be ashamed not to have this band more exposed than they are. They next to Earth Wind Fire and Frankie Beverly. Im mad
