Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Short tour of the most immaculate Scenicruiser I’ve ever seen. Fully restored over a period of several years.

My dad worked for Greyhound for many years and drove the old Scenicruisers. He would have loved this. He has been gone since 1972.

God, I rode a bunch of these as a young kid up until my last Scenic cruise in I guess 1969. I was pissed royally when I rode my first MC-7 in 1972. I never forgave Greyhound for pulling the Scenics as their flagship. Lol

That's the result of 15+ years of patience and love. Even the coach HVAC works. The foglighrs were also brought back, which is rare. Most were removed, and the bumper cutouts were blanked..

A blast from the past. My dad owned 2 of these buses. A 1954 model and a 1956 model. The 54 was #104 and not sure what the 56 was. I learned to drive buses with 54 model. Drove some charter and some private coach before I ended up in a truck for 25 yrs. Quick history on the 54 model. We bought it in 1975 in Dallas. Turns out it was used as a crew bus for the Led Zepplin tour. Slept 13 and we found alot of motel keys.

My father used to drive an old B61 Mack wrecker part time in the late 60’s and early 70’s for Ohlers towing out of Washington DC . I remember riding with him and towing some of these buses that had broken down . I rode with him to several different states around the DC area . He would haul them to the Washington DC garage for repairs . Was always fun to go along .

What a trip down memory lane! My father drove them when they were brand new! I remember riding in one from Minneapolis to Seattle in the early 70's. If only I could post a photo of my father in uniform in front of 8239.

I am a truck driver and earlier this year while at a truck stop in Rochester, Indiana got to see a Scenicruiser go by and was in awe and amazement at the sight. I was laughing when I heard the Detroit 8v71 running with the driver shifting the gears on the stick shift transmission. The bus was converted into a motor home but I knew what it was. Thank you for sharing this. The beautiful restoration of your Scenicruiser is so nice that it looks as though it's brand new and never been used. It's only possible to just get a little something with other videos of this iconic bus in terms of what it was like to ride on one.

Outstanding . My father worked at the DC shop from 55/85 . As a kid he'd pick me up to go on a tow or road call. One tow in particular was a cruiser # 4263 through harbor tunnel. A thrill. you no it. Tow truck was built from a Z 250 6/71 cruiser rear axle . Thanks for the memories sir

Wow! Magnificent! It's a shame that this can't get into bus service again since I'm sure many folks would have liked to have ridden on it once more. It's really a relic of transportation history that could also be displayed in some museum.

Beautiful restore BUT it is a shame they painted it the yellow color downstairs. They were always painted "greyhound green". I drove for Greyhound from 1962 till 1974. Worked the extra boards out of Pittsburgh. We always had a "scenic" on the NY/LA thru sections. The 80& 81 hundreds were west coast "cars" with plates to run cross country. I could have driven that 8028? In those days you had to have a license plate and fuel sticker on the coach, for every state, it operated in!!!! I have driven almost everything GM , MCI and Eagle produced, till I retired in 1997, and nothing ever compared to driving a "good" scenic. I had the distinct pleasure of driving Tom McNallys scenic 8149 three years ago. It has all of the original license plates both front and back.
