Regular usage of finasteride has completely stopped my hair fall and even recovered a bit of hair lost. It almost seems magical. But then again, I was lucky enough to not suffer its sexual side effects.

Discontinuity with Minoxidil will increase your hair fall, because Minoxidil helps to increase your Anagen phase i.e Growing phase of your hair & your baldness is postponed, but as you will stop using Minoxidil, you will notice your hair is shedding off, i.e Telogen phase, So to save your Existing hairs you will have to use Minoxidil , till the time you feel your hair is important for you.

DHT is one of the main causes of hair loss, but other factors are also associated with it such as Nutritional deficiencies like Vit. B12, Vit. D, Iron, Calcium. Also Hormonal imbalances like irregularity in thyroid hormone, Telogen effluvium, in case of extreme physical or mental stress for which you need to do some blood investigations, to determine if the hair loss is due to above causes. With the reports, you need to have a proper consultation with Dermatologist for effective treatment of your hair loss.

Dev kindly avoid self prescription, consult Dermatologist near by you, so that he will guide you properly after examining your scalp physically & he will start treatment according to your scalp need. Finasteride & Minoxidil alone will never help you to achieve best possible result , for best possible result you will have to start with treatment as soon as possible to save your existing hair, such as FDA approved medications , nutritional support & some procedure.

My husband is suffering from thinning of hair and gradual hair loss, so we consulted a dermatologist and she asked to apply 10 percent minoxidil 2ml daily at night and she asked to come after 2 months.
