I'm in a 2023 ProMaster. The high roof ones you can stand up in. When they invented those (vans you can stand up in, starting with the Sprinter in...2012? I don't know), I saw them and said now that's a game-changer. Always wanted van life, but couldn't imagine something you couldn't stand up in. A decade later and I'm 8 mos. into full time.

Great utility of space with a very convenient location of necessary items. Perhaps a swivel passenger chair would be better than removing it altogether? Thank you both!

Thank you for touring this minivan build, Brian. I have a 2017 Toyota Sienna and being verticality challenged definitely makes it perfect for me solo traveling. This build has given me renewed motivation to add to my minimal build. Because I am not full time and the Sienna is my daily driver everything needs to be light and easy installed and taken out for storage when I am at homebase. What I have been using goes in and out in about 20 minutes but is very comfortable for travels up to 7 weeks so far... The drawer fridge may be just what I need. These tours are great, because you get ideas and solutions for everyone. Thank you for taking the time to create your videos. 😊

I have an ARB fridge that’s easy to remove & bring inside. It allows me to plug in house&cool overnight before hitting road&immediately load food. Just added a cheaper Costco one. I needed a dedicated freezer for f/t. Both are fridge OR freezer. Best of luck!

Great Interview.Take your front seat out 😃😃. You will be impressed with the room you have. I took the front passenger seat out of my 97 4 door RAV4 when I went solo car camping 2 years ago. Easy to move from back to front…I’m 68 years old 😃 I’m leaving in 2 weeks for another trip. Taking the seat out again this weekend . 😎 Like your setup.👍👍👍

Make the passenger seat a swivel if room allows then its an easier transition into the rear. To be honest I'd take the passenger seat out and you will be amazed at how much extra storage you have. Cheers from Australia

This is great, I have a Fiat Doblo Cargo Maxi (in the UK) which is pretty much the same van as this, it's really interesting seeing what he's done/doing. I've been following the maxim heat the person not the space, so I've got an electric throw which works great plus really low energy requirement . I did the conversion myself so it's a bit rustic compared to this but so similar. Favourite hack for me would be the inlaid sink by the rear doors, I might be borrowing that idea.

Great use of space!!! Consideration: Maybe turn the passenger seat around to face the rear for a relax chair and easing of getting into the front from rear of van. Then front floorboard could be more storage. Such a nice simple, basic life in a van.

Nomadic people should be put to the front of the line for political jobs in the USA because these people are facing real problems, producing real solutions and it all looks pleasing to the eye... unlike all politicians today.

  • @fdm2155

True. I think a lot of today's politicians are primarily 1) attorneys 2) white collar workers. Also I think most come from middle and high income families. So there isn't enough diversity of experience among them. Unfortunately part of the problem is that it's incredibly expensive to run for state or federal office. So you have to either be politically connected AND/OR reasonably well off to even consider running. Really reduces the chances of a small family farmer, school teacher, average small business owner, tradesman running for office.

Solving problems like homelessness, drug addiction, etc would put millions out of work. As long as government is willing to throw (tax) money at the issues, they will continue to grow.

Please correct me if I’m wrong I’ve researched the RAM PROMASTER CITY and have never read good reviews on the engine issues. I looked the van up again recently to see if the engineering had improved but I read the model has been discontinued. I follow StaticCamperVan from time to time, he has this van type, I think last year he stated he needs a new engine! This would have been my van of choice, the reviews steered my clear of purchasing it

Almost all the time I'm outside. But the last three days we have had a lot of cold rain here. I do however admire this man and everyone who can live like he does.

It's pretty but not practical for long-term use. To only be able to reach your food if you open the back doors isn't practical in rain or storms, if it's late and how tired, if you're stealth camping, or if you just want a quick snack. That collapsible bucket for grey water is only practical if you have somewhere to immediately toss the grey water. It's more practical for weekend camping in great weather.
