@@davidpeterson725 He had a 27.1% completion percentage on throw outside the numbers in college. That ranked 48th in the nation. His footwork is also a mess right now, so that will need to be addressed. He's also slow when it comes to progressing through his reads and tends to scramble out of clean pockets rather than continue going through his reads. I'm not saying he has no chance to be a good NFL QB. He's just not as talented as the top 3 guys.

No reason for him to say it if it wasn't true. If it wasn't a true then that coach has some mental issues because it makes no sense to do that.

For JJ it is all going to depend on how Darnold plays, and it may or may not be a right now league. The whole right now totally depends on the security of the head coach & GM, and the team philosophy. GreenBay doesn’t have an owner and their GM/coach have less pressure so they aren’t in a hurry to rush rookie QB’s onto the field!

I’m no Sam Darnold fan especially after seeing him on “Soul and Science” (SAS) with Trent Dilfer. From memory he had a 54 MPH ball speed and a 0.44 Load-to-Release (LTR). I can’t remember his Load-to-Arrival (LTA) time. But Josh Allen was on the same episode and Josh obviously just blew Sam out of the water with a 0.38 LTR and 62 MPH right with a 59 running to Josh’s LEFT which is insane. I mean, Josh throws 10 percent better to his weak side than the average QB to the strong. But I like McCarthy better than Drake Maye. Without having numbers I think McCarthy’s LTR is quicker than Drake’s. Drake throws an accurate deep ball but I like JJ better on intermediate throws that have to get out and get there in a hurry.

SO GLAD they didn't get Maye. Maye is so overrated. Maye's footwork is awful, his accuracy is mediocre. He's a project and people fall in love with him because of his physical gifts. McCarthy has a great arm, not elite, but he makes all the throw. He's also very athletic (4.47) can throw off platform and he knows how to win. He doesn't rely on the splashy plays to win games. He makes the right play over and over again and that's a lot more reproducable in the NFL then trying to make sportscenter plays all the time.

  • @CH-xt4cr

@@brandondillman5841 Doesn't make them right. You don't draft a guy at 3 as a project but that's exactly what Drake Maye is. Maye's footwork and accuracy are mid, mediocre. JJ was very accurate, doesn't turn the ball over, plays big in big moments, and is an Alpha leader according to his teammates and coaches and everyone who meets talks about how they gravitate toward him. You can't coach that kind of presence and leadership. He also has great pocket awareness which Maye does not. Maye had mediocre pocket awareness, often ran out of clean pockets, which again you can get away with in College, but not the NFL. He's got the intangibles that you cannot coach. Drake doesn't have those intangibles. He's not the Alpha leader and he's not clutch. JJ is a great decision maker who makes the right play over and over. Drake too often tried to make the big play rather than take what the defense gives him. You can get away with that in college, but not in the NFL.

@@Ggggggyhg Nah...you guys have fun with Mitch Trubisky 2.0. We got a clutch, alpha leader, accurate passer, and great athlete. Also, Mac Jones looked like a good pick when he had weapons and a decent offensive coordinator in Josh McDaniels. He went through 3 different offensive coordinators (really 4 since year 2 he didn't officially have one). Mac Jones had a chance to be a decent Quarterback but the Pats screwed him over in year 2 and apparently he doesn't have the intangibles to recover. Also, who do the Pats have to throw to? THey have a worthless offense. Maye won't do any better. He's not coming in more polished and ready than Mac Jones and he has absolutely nothing to work with. They are in a perfect position to ruin another young prospect. JJ has two great tackles to protect him, two great receivers, a great tight end, a great offensive-minded coach, and a veteran back to check down to. He's walking into a QB's dream development situation.
