as a person who isn’t in the kpop fandom but loves their music, new jeans is one of the only groups i have stuck with and i feel more connected with them compared to all the other kpop members. only because they’re all around my age (or in the teens to adults already and i’m able to grow up with them). this really broke my heart seeing the word “die” to minji, the eldest of the group and the audacity to say it infront of hyein, the youngest of the group isn’t even 17 yet. i’m not sure what minji has done to get deserve such a word, but i’m 100% sure she has done nothing wrong to the hater and to all of us. she is putting so much dedication, hard work and love towards her group, treating them like sisters as the eldest. being 19 years old, minji handled it like a proper adult by screenshotting the comment and may have reported what happened. she, the group and all other kpop singers don’t deserve so much hate by the people who judge too quickly, the people who treat their bias as a king/queen and neglecting or ignoring another member of the group, the people who want to see more and demand harsh expectations on the members. kpop groups are not for your entertainment to play around with, they are humans like you choosing to entertain YOU!! why must you be so harsh and treat them like dolls? too thin, too fat,!” pick me girl, always down, too sad, too happy, you’re not korean. JUST SHUT UP. we don’t want to lose another angel like with all the young people we lost in their 20s. i don’t want to wake up to another beautiful person dead because of their mental health problems and we weren’t there to support them when they needed us most. we’re part of the reason why they want to keep going. minji doesn’t deserve this hate, she is too precious to lose, not soon, not ever.

i completely agree! it’s really sad that the “fanwar” culture has become a norm and that pitting groups against each other just to make them feel better about their ult groups is too normalised in the industry. even worse when they point out their physical appearances that doesn’t even relate to their job, they’re idols not models, they sing and dance and perform, they’re not there to be treated like “bodies” for people to criticise every single thing that they do. also minji has reported it to ador and they took action already. the live comments are now limited only to those who are subscribed to phoning :)

@@wonisuEventually these interactions with fans will end, especially as the group become more famous. And I think this will be for the best, because I see NewJeans as a project with the potential to transcend fandoms and borders. Even the director of Ditto himself predicted the current situation of the group: “The members of NewJeans are free-thinking children, but what if they gradually lose their image through people’s evaluation and misunderstanding? What if restrictions are put on how they express themselves as artists or human beings in the future?” The pressure and prejudices of the public (haters and even fans) will have a negative impact on the group, which is already starting to happen. A few days ago a group of fans sent several letters to Hybe saying "that Minji deserves more lines and more center position during choreography, alongside different styles in hair and makeup instead of her constant straight black hair and nude layout.". That may seem like a well-intentioned act, but all it does is undermine the creative freedom of the members of NewJeans and the team behind them.

@@SlowDIIVit’s really disgusting that there are fans who has seen many kpop groups dye their hair. it’s as if it’s a demanding expectation that once your a member, you must have to dye your hair. i personally think minji doesn’t need any changes by the fans opinions. she is NOT a doll for them, it’s her body, her rules. she chose to be a kpop idol for who she is. minji is beautiful with straight long black hair and her cute baby like face :’)

Advice to not be reported during a kpop live: Think before typing. Will you get banned? Will the members be hurt? Words like “die, bi***,” and other words we all cant say, people need to minimize the use of swears. Are you better than them? If so, are you a better person? Can you see? Hyein isn’t 18 yet! Yet she’s too young to hear those words. Hearing words like that to newjeans, specially minji, breaks my heart. I experience this a lot, but I try to stand up. Yet I’m not 14,13, I’m not a teen yet. But I handle stuff carefully and everyone should keep their negative thoughts in mind. Bring out your positive thoughts to people better than you and worse than you. Be careful with your words. Or trouble may be running towards you. Using brains are important. God is watching. Everyone can know what you are doing. Think about it, if you are Minji, then Minji says that to you, what would you feel? Jealousy is either good or bad. The good side is when you are jealous and you let the people know that the person they are jealous of did well. The bad side is, you are as selfish as a crab. It sounds funny, but I’m serious. Crab mentality is what people have nowadays. It is horrible, trust me. All you do, be thankful for the kpop people that WORKS HARD, SACRIFICES THEIR LIVES JUST FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT. Please, all people will be happy for all the haters to STFU. They would not have to talk to them just to let them learn. If you read everything, you must learn. If you didn’t learn, you have to know and reflect on yourselves, for God is here. ACTIVITY: Rest for atleast 1 minute and reflect on yourself. Read the Bible, or book if want. Rewatch this video if you hated. Reflect on your sins, for this lesson is important. Thank you for reading everything!❤

I understand that kpop idols doesn’t deserve to be hated. They just dance and sing and everyone is hating without a reasonable reason, Hyein is not even 18.. she’s too young to hear those hate comments. I’m feeling bad for Minji also.. the word “die” is really painful… I’m glad that Minji handled it well, how would you feel if they tell you “die” is painful, isn’t it? 😢
