Ministry & Missions in Japan || A Japanese Testimony

Ойын-сауық

Japan has less than a 1% Christian population. In a culture that values conformity over individuality, this is the story of how one life was forever changed.

Same here. The only difference is that I have opened myself up to my small church in a village here in Japan and God has used the small church to bless me so much. Just remember that we are all the body of Christ, it doesn't matter where you are or are from. Once you see fellow Believers through Christ's eyes, your life will change. Also, give it time. God bless you love.

Hi Tim, thank you for sharing Mayu’s story. Very touching. As a Christian, living in the states, I am drawn to the Japanese culture for some reason, and first came across your testimony on your channel. Refreshing to see how God raises up leaders from stories of brokenness. Listening to your story, Mayu’s, and Levi’s on the link you provided was a wonderful gift from God today. An answered prayer. I am a sinner saved by Grace in Christ Jesus, our Lord. God may be opening the door to missionary work in my life given my interests in languages. I speak Spanish, English, French, and want to learn Japanese. Though Mandarin Chinese is of high interest at the moment. I don’t know, and that is okay. Learning how to walk with Him, by faith, and not by sight. Praying for discernment as we proceed in God’s Kingdom. Peace and Joy to you, brother, and greetings to the brothers and sisters there! ❤

I've always said that the right way to do mission work in Japan is through "relationship evangelism". Japanese people aren't generally going to be persuaded by preaching or apologetics, but authenticity and kindness and love? THAT penetrates. It's a slow process, but a rewarding one. I'd LOVE to go back to Japan and do this. I wish I'd known about this when I was there in 2013.

Hi Mayu & Levi, I have traveled to Japan at least 100 times for 1986 through 2006. I love your country and more than that I love the Japanese people. During my travels, one of my engineering colleagues told me that he was also a Christian when I was gently witnessing to him. With all my discussions and witnessing opportunities I met only 2 believers. Now my heart continually pointed towards Japan and her people. Love in Jesus, Leo

What was interesting is that I grew up in America and my family wasn't Christian, none of my friends were Christian. So it's not just a distant culture thing. I had to have epiphanies and discover Christian literature that explained things in extraordinary depth and through self education I was led into the Way of Life both in private practice and public worship.

Even though Jesus was just a Middle eastern Brown man. What can I say? Whites love appropriating the culture of others and claiming authority over it, isn't it a little bit too weird that western Europeans and Americans whose ancestors were of Germanic or Celtic Tribes love claiming the Graeco-Roman civilization as belonging to them? Despite the fact Greeks and Romans were writing on the same Whites' ancestors as barbarian savages and mediterraeans were excluded from the Whiteness Census for decades in the U.S.?
