Ministry 1992.12.21 Center Arena Seattle WA Soundboard Audio Only

Музыка

With the anniversary of Mike's passing, i figured this would be a great time to honor his memory and to break out of the vaults a short but sweet set of classic soundboard Ministry. Mikey shreds it up from start to finish on a great performance. Enjoy a truly haunting performance of Scarecrow, and the N.W.O/Missing/Diety/Hero quad-tic is facemelting to say the least! (watch out for special guests on Supernaut as well) Please subscibe and like if you enjoy, more Ministry and classic Industrial on my channel!

I was at this show. Still the greatest concert I’ve ever been to. Total hysteria. Helmet and Sepultera opened. Dave Grohl, Kim Thayil and Eddie Vedder showed up to perform on “Breathe” which sent the audience into another level of sheer chaos. There was sweat and blood all over people’s shirts while bodies bounced off each other. Absolutely epic.

Al Jourgensen is one of the great US rock stars. he's a genius. i'm listening in 2023 and this is fresh as fuck. Twitch and Land of Rape & Honey are masterpieces. not only is Al the song writer. he's the producer. that means the music is everything he imagines it should be, its amazing. Ministry been with me since hearing Stigmata after a bucket bong in 88. Scarecrow here is insane.

oh…My….GAWWWWD! This is brutally FANTASTIC! 🔥🔥🔥 While this was not the show I attended (I saw them in July ‘92 at Lollapalooza in Bremerton, WA 6 months prior to this), this was the same set list and what MEMORIES!!! 😵😂😂😂😵 I had always tried to find a recording of Ministry’s set from that show in order to show for context and have my son (who is now 25) listen to so he could visualize his Momma’s mosh pit story that I’ve told him about. This def will suffice! 😂 I was an early Ministry fan via With Sympathy and I still was a fan at this point despite the direction AL had begun to go in (He lost me shortly after this). At Lollapalooza, I was a 21 yr old 110 lb 5’7 tall Gal and the minute I heard “Thieves” begin, I thought it would be “Fun” to inject myself into the mosh pit which was enormous by that point in the set. Even my friend Ben who I was with (and who was an ardent Skinny Puppy fan, so no slouch there 😂) said no F’ing way, and was absolutely horrified that I would even suggest such a thing. He told me that I was BatShit for even thinking about the attempt. But, for whatever reason, I was determined. Soo…into the Hell Pit Batshit went….🫨🫨 Needless to say, my skinny ass was knocked the F around like a pinball from which there was NO escape…😂 I somehow managed to endure it through the entirety of “Thieves” and only managed to escape right when “Stigmata” ended when a very kind Soul decided to come to my rescue and got me outta there. Somehow despite being the PIT pinball, I came out intact without a damn scratch on me. How THAT happened, I have no clue..a damn miracle. GOOD TIMES! 😂 That ENTIRE day at Lollapalooza was 100% MAYHEM…phenomenal music, substances and the F’ing COLD Weather (it was JULY for FFS!! and you can witness that by the Soundgarden set that someone filmed and uploaded here. ALL that steam RISING up from bodies of people in the crowd! 🤣). And WHOEVER YOU ARE that posted the Soundgarden set…I’ll say it again should you ever see this….OMG…THANK YOU!! 🤣 YOU captured History! 🙏🤘One of the BEST experiences and such good memories! I only wish that ALL the sets filmed that day would find their way to KZread! (the majority are still missing…Ministry, Pearl Jam, Jesus and Mary Chain, Lush, Ice Cube and Luscious Jackson). Soundgarden Lollapalooza Bremerton, WA, July 22, 1992 Set: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dJlkxc6HYc26n8o.htmlsi=EDiGUcAvKuRAHc3s Finding this today has made this (YEP..now 51 yr old!) Girl pretty darn happy! 🔥😂 Although I think I may have injured myself by rockin’ out to it! 😆

the only thing that is wrong with this is it's missing TV song which Chris Connelly sang. There was also a duet with Chris Cornell from Soundgarden that came after. And "Breathe" was the final song which Eddie Vedder did vocals on. So this is not the complete set from that night.

The intro for it was Al saying 'we're bringing out Connelly from the Cocks and Chris from Soundgarden...it's the WWF showdown of industrial music!" Cornell was trying to sing the song and Connelly kept looking back at him like "WTF man?" Connelly also did TV song before that. But yeah, like EVERYONE rock in Seattle attended. A pal of mine saw Jerry and Layne from Alice in Chains backstage...I can only imagine how crazy the booze and drugs were backstage at that shit lol

Al playing the harmonica bit from When The Levee Breaks by Led Zeppelin in this performance in Scarecrow answers the question I always wondered in my head of when they wrote that song, they were influenced by When The Levee Breaks. Not only that, both songs sound nearly identical which also makes me wonder if they sampled When The Levee Breaks for the whole song, because the main riff in Scarecrow loosely sounds like the riff after each drum and harmonica and vocals verse in When The Levee Breaks in a different pitch and also like a riff in another Zeppelin song. Can somebody give me some more information on the samples in this song ? I know the screaming sound is sampled from The Exorcist, but I want to know what the guitar riffs and the "They live without hope" line was or if sampled from.
