You’ve come such a long way. In my minimalist journey I’ve also learned that as we physically declutter our lives, we also mentally declutter, allowing ourselves to grow with our shrinking stuff. Keep up the great work.

Chris Thompson you cant have decor as a minimalist? So a house can’t be decorated or look nice? What abt pictures and antiques. Or is minimalism just essential physical items, and nothing personal.

Jasper Andrew u can have anything u want as a minimalist. People confuse living minimalist which is just keeping only the things u need use and love, and the minimalist aesthetic which is empty white walls and no decor and monotone colors. Im a minimalist, like i have lots of empty shelves, only one plate one bowl, but i have lots of color, i have wall decor. The myth of the minimalist aesthetic is really what holds people back

We DEF have hobbies and stuff! Even though we got rid of almost our entire home, I still have items from loved ones who have passed on (mother’s ring, father’s shirt, grandmother’s vase, etc). I like minimalism that has color and HEART! ❤️ Keep it up girl, love listening to your voice and watching you clean 😂.

The best part of being minimalish is how quickly you can return your spaces to a tidy state.

Love your progress! Totally agree with minimaLISH. Can I make a suggestion. While I totally appreciate it only taking 5- 30 minutes now to clean your spaces, I think it's also beneficial to include clips of what your space used to look like and how long it used to take you to clean that space? Good to show new watchers your progress but it's extra motivating for some of us still kinda stuck in the middle that it does make a huge difference in the long run. Thanks. You're awesome. ^ This. Magic eraser was the only thing that worked when I had corian.

I had that kind of sink before! i used vanish oxyclean or the eco friendly version: sodium percarbonate. two table spoons and one gallon of hot water, leave it for one hour minimum (can be done overnight) and it turns back to white/cream. love your videos and your journey! love from France

It looks so great! The BEST think about getting rid of my excess “junk” has been the ease in keeping my house clean.

I like the idea of less and I agree with you..I have a collection of mccoy, USA pottery...I will not be getting rid of any of it ...I do keep it clean and dusted...I once watched a man say if you can't honor something by keeping it clean ,etc you don't need it..I am beginning to agree with him...thanks for letting us join you in this journey

How quickly I can clean, even "deep" clean, has been a huge bonus of paring down our unused/unloved belongings. We have quarterly pest control service. It used to take me at least 2 hours to get the house picked up and things moved around so that they could spray efficiently/sufficiently. Now it takes me about 20 minutes. It's fantastic! We still have a lot of things that we need to look at and probably let go of, but we are probably down about 55% from where we started.

Have you tried Barkeepers friend, cream of tartar or vinegar & baking soda in your sink? Also, Magic eraser will remove the marks off the walls

I have a Corian sink as well and I use Beekeepers Friend to keep it clean with a scotch pad.😁

My husband was recently laid off due to the virus. Thankfully, he has found a new position but we will need to move. I’m using this as a reason to purge and get better organized. I’ve gotten rid of so much and it feels really good.

Use Bar Keeper's Friend for the sink . You can use the cream cleaner or the powder. It also works great, and is safe for use on, pots/pans/baking dishes and stainless steal. I use it on my tub and glass enclose for hard water stains... This stuff was my miracle find for cleaning 💙

"Bar Keepers Friend" might work on your sink. You can find it on Amazon! There is a soft scrub-ish kind and also a comet-ish kind. A combination of both works really great.

Also! Mr. Clean Magic Erasers are awesome! They get rid of scuff marks on walls, sinks, bathrooms, sneakers. They are so great to keep on hand. They are like a micro fiber scrubber sponge.

I had the same sink in our former home. I accidentally spilled some silver cleaner in it and it took up all the stains!! After that, I'd put just enough water in the sink to cover the stain, then add the silver cleaner (liquid), about half a cup. Worked every time! Guess I don't understand why you don't relegate homeschooling to the basement. If I had a basement like that, I'd be down there all the time! Your living room looks great, and you are truly an inspiration to many!

It’s been an amazing journey so far. I’m loving seeing the change in you and your home, yet at the same time, I selfishly, miss the wow factor of seeing that basement pile decreasing! Maybe that is part of the reason for wanting you to pull everything out of the crawl space - although I do sincerely think that would be easier to sort through that way! If you have read this far, you could pick up from home depot the disposable coveralls they sell, to wear over your clothes when you tackle the attic. You can just leave them up there and you’ll be minimizing the spread of particles. Also bag items up there for trash/donate to contain the particles.
