I journaled from 16 years to 29 years old. When I got married I stopped. I guess I didn't trust my ex not to read them. I love the vast information that your bullet jounalling tracks. You have inspired me to return to something I loved so much. I'm 65 now and used to live and travel in a converted school bus with my sister. Your experiences take me back to those wonderful years. I just started a journal this year (I'm 67) and I wanted a more in depth record of my blood sugar and blood pressure readings. The journal gives me room to add reasons why my sugar was high on a particular morning (like ice cream after 10pm). I am also getting rather forgetful and am hoping this will help me with birthdays and such. Love your channel!

As someone whose journals are entirely made up of long-form free writing, I’ve mostly been uninterested in the structure of bullet journaling. But I love your daily progress trackers and I imagine the slow and tactile process of recording each by hand helps with building awareness. I think it’s one of the most clever and pleasing things I’ve seen out of the world of bullet journaling!

  • @Gr95dc

I've been bullet journaling for almost 2 years, but in March I mostly stopped using it and by May I wasn't sure of wanting to keep using it, I got overwhelmed by my artsy style and I felt almost obligated to keep using it to have something to post for the instagram account I made for it almost since the beginning. So I looked for minimalist bullet journals and decided to be the most minimal I have ever been with my bujo for May. It worked! Now I'm constantly using my bujo even if it's the middle of the quarantine (in my country) and if I just have minimal things to write in it. I wish I had found your video back in April, I think your bujo is the most minimalist I have seen so far. I agree that everyone should start super simple and add things as they see fit. I started being artsy again in June but this time I truly enjoyed it even if it was something more simple than what I was used to do, and I used it just as much as I did in May.

I’ve been searching and searching for a template for an easy habit/routine tracker. Most were glamorous, and not for me. But the way you make it simple, x and y, on the Y you just write whatever you want to track, and simply dot when you did it on that day. I love that. And the that sleep, stress, mood tracker! Genius! I do love myself some graphs, but I’m going to use exactly this lay-out. See how it will go this year. ❤

Rather than make my bujo fancy af with color, stickers, washi tape and whatnot like I used to do, I realized that simple, to the point, productive spreads are more my thing. I definitely learned some things here. I started 2 days ago and decided that since I'm unemployed and not much is going on right now I'll experiment. Each day so far has been artistically different. I like decorating and I can't do calligraphy. Since I am a fashion designer I have all the colors and stationary and papers and pens and markers cause I bought them as a student so I might as well play with them. So many videos say oh you need an annual tracker and set monthly goals and annual goals and add this and add that. I am starting this to have less stress in my life and relief anxiety and also track some habits and give me reminders. So I took everyone's and no ones advice. Put in an index, added the months of the year as future log so I can right down future appointments, introduced an ADHD friend page called "where the fudge did I put that" cause I constantly misplace important items and documents, so every time I move those, or "organize" I'll write it down. Before I was trying to keep a mental note and I would move the item and forget I moved it. And them I started the daily log. Wake up and bedtime, track food, water, mood, leave empty space for random thoughts and aspirations, an open to do list, doodling, scrapping from old materials and leftover paper I have laying around. I'm winging it like I do with most things and I am thinking I'll add things as my life changes, maybe get a weekly overview, projects of the week written down, add a timetable and not just a to do list with open times on when I wanna complete tasks. I am thinking of printing ready layouts to just slap on when I don't have the time or energy to make a new day in my log. And because I have ADHD making a month's worth of days, dated and named overwhelms me, cause what if I have nothing to do one day and I waste space in my journal? I prefer just adding the dates as I go.

The *only* upside you can take from people who give their own time to hate is that they give more engagement to a video. which in turn makes the video itself find it's way into the algorithm of more people's "recommended" feeds which will bring even more engagement to videos/views which will help her channel grow.

Very helpful. I see the logic of tracking the sleep to mood to eating to exercise. I love the concise way you have boiled it down to dots and lines. I can do something if it's really quick and concise every day. And I love the idea on paper. I'm trying to do all this on an IPAD now and I don't love it.

I’ve been looking for a good cycle tracking method, and never heard of FAM. That is a game changer for me so I am glad you shared it. I love your habit tracker and monthly memories collections, too. Your sensibilities, purpose and aesthetics for journalling are similar to mine, but I’ve had trouble figuring out how to put it all together, so thank you so much for posting!

I can't remember if I've commented on this video before, but I keep coming back to it quite often. Elsa, your voice is so calming and soothing, and I love your minimal journalling style. I wanted to do an artsy, colourful journal but I just couldn't begin. I got as far as opening the book.....and then closing it again. However.....I'm going to start small and simple and see what happens. Thank you, sweetheart. You've given me the gentle nudge that I needed. I'm now going on a journalling journey. Wish me luck....❤❤❤

Hey, the algorithm bought me here. I love that you track Mood/stress/sleep, and can compare to food/stimulants. That's such a smart way to monitor things! I may have to start doing this :)

Hi Elsa, I've watched hundreds of bujo videos but it's yours that really convinced me to start one, organise my life, take care more of myself, keep an eye on my health and think about what I can do to improve bits of my life I'm not feeling great about. I'm turning 30 on july 2nd and I hope it'll help me make the best of this new decade of my life. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Journaling is a learning experience. Start from nothing or a few ideas and see what works for you. Ive been Journaling for 2 months now I get more ideas all the time from trial and error. Then I get videos like these that give me even more ideas/tips to implement into my Journal for the next month.

I started a bullet journal this year, mostly based on your spreads and some of my own creative ones. Your journal videos are my favorite because I've been journaling since freshman year of highschool and now I'm in my senior year. I've been using bought planners to journal but this year I decided to use my own. The trackers are amazing and I'm so excited to see them as the year goes on.

This video is WONDERFUL. I love how it's comprehensive and concise enough for people who don't have the time to put toward bullet journaling. I felt I HAD to comment because your trackers are by far the best trackers I have seen and gave me that 'aha' moment as to how I can track my sleep, moods, and stress. I was wondering how pick one number for mood and stress, because for me I usually have many moods/moments of stress. I'll have to think on it more, but really the point is thank you for making this video and spreading positivity and wellness.

I absolutely love your bullet journal method. It’s simple and clean. I stopped bullet journaling for a while. I would watch other people make beautiful spreads. I would attempt and fail horribly and it just became a little overwhelming. Your way really makes me want to get back into my journaling.

Watching your videos, I feel more positive about my life and confident in my ability to make my goals happen. In comparison, in some other channels I am more inclined to compare myself unrealistically, get down on myself, and not complete my goals.

Omgoodness finally! I’ve been searching for a better tracker system for months! I was using a much more visually complicated version...THIS is what I want! It’s perfectly conducive for observing correlations, which I tried to do but never did, it was too complicated. I like the idea of the monthly spread, but I’ve tried it before and it wasn’t quite enough room. Even though I have a fairly simple life, I’m scattered, so I tend to over record things in an attempt to corral and control everything 😂 Don’t ask me how that’s working for me. I really appreciate your actual minimal style. There’s so many videos with “minimalist bujo set up” in the title but it’s really just a decorated calendar. Drives me crazy. If the first thing they do is start drawing leaves, I’m gone! So thank you!!
