Minimalist Beauty Tips I Learned Living in Japan & China 🌸

When I was living and working in Japan and China I learnt a few beauty secrets that helped me on my journey from a maximalist beauty-addict to a minimalist approach. I used to spend so much money on beauty products and I would buy everything that was new or exciting.
But these days I have a completely different approach to what we call beauty care. My skincare routine contains of olive oil that I get from the grocery store, a mineral sunscreen I get from the health food store online, and sometimes some extras like vitamin E oil or Sea Buckthorn Oil.
My beauty routine is also my health routine, and it starts from within. This means way fewer products, and a much more minimal skincare routine.
Thank you so much for watching 🌺

    Great, clutter-free advices ☺️ only essentials! Thank you Saga. when I was in China, I also saw a lot of elderly people who moved and danced a lot - honestly, it lifted my spirits every time and gave me hope that in old age you can live an interesting life as well - I think the Asian approach to the body, beauty and life in general is wise and unique in many aspects

    Beautiful video with which I totally resonate. I loved people dancing in China before going to work, doing their tai-chi… mmmm, fell in love with their practices.

    So informative and true! I'd love to know how you apply papaya/pineapple to your skin in order to use them as exfoliators. Thanks for the tips 💘

    Thank you! ❤ If I have fresh papaya/pineapple I just use the inside of the skin and rub it on my skin, leave for 10 minutes and rinse!

    I loved these tips, especially the one about keeping our fascia healthy! Although I love my Whamisa lotions and potions, I agree it's so important to take care of our skin from the inside and do things that don't require products. I'd love to add a tip - getting good sleep! 😊

    How often do you wash your hair now? I remember you said once a week before. I have similar fine hair and I need to wash 2-2.5 days or it is super greasy.

    I did once a week before, but now I'm trying a different tactic. I'm washing it every 3-4 days, and more often if I have an event or something. My hair just doesn't look good unless it's freshly washed. I've started trying to do sock curls overnight and I find that makes my hair look way better! :)

    men never talk about beauty like this. it's kinda sad actually that us women feel that beauty is one of the most important thing. mostly because women care so much about other people's opinions. if one would be the only person left on earth, I don't think anyone would care about their appearance, so why now?

  • @SagaJohanna

    @SagaJohanna

    7 ай бұрын

    The reason we feel that way is because that is how women are mostly valued in society. But I hope in this video I can shift the perspective from beauty on the outside to taking care of ourselves and beauty on the inside! 😊

    @@SagaJohanna Yes, but most women just follow the stream. They don't dare to do something that isn't "allowed" by society, ie go without makeup, don't dress to the nine, don't look "pretty" aaall the time, let their hair go grey etc.. While men always are allowed to just be who they are, most of the time. In this video you talk a lot about outer beauty, that's why I even started to think about this right now.
