Hi everyone. I want to address skin filters because I do believe it is important to be transparent. I normally shoot on cinema cameras at the highest quality with sunlike lighting, so you can see my real skin texture with no skin blurring. My Magic Hour makeup tutorial is an example. However, I shot this video using a beauty cam on my phone because it’s an easier set up for me at home. Tbh, I turned the skin smoothing to the lowest setting, so there shouldn’t be any skin filter. The warping you’re seeing is from a subtle face slimmer that corrects my weird face distortion I get when I’m filming up close on the phone camera. I get pretty self conscious about that. I’m sorry if I came off as disingenuous. I’m trying to be more comfortable with how I look on camera. Some of the comments mentioned how I don’t need any of this, and tbh, you reminded me that we put too much pressure on ourselves and it’s okay to have flaws because that’s real. Thank you for allowing me to be vulnerable with no judgement. I’ll def be more transparent in future videos. 🥺

Props to you for admitting, there are other youtubers that put 10+ filter, so that they don't even look like themselves anymore and it's sad actually

Man some people are being so mean to you , if you want to use filters because you feel better do it! I use filters and sometimes I don’t it’s your channel! You do what you want if people don’t like what you do they can unsubscribe:) I don’t know what’s up with iPhone selfie but I’ve noticed when I switch to selfie I can see the split second widening it does to my face and I hate it cause that’s not how I look. So using a filter to look more like the real you? I get it! Love you!

she has become more minimalist, simple no fuss techniques while delivering the same impact she has always had....and the "Good Luck" at the end of every tutorial is so iconic

I don't even wear makeup anymore, but this was such a nice reminder of how makeup tutorials used to be. Simple ones like these were why I subbed in the first place. They just feel so much more genuine and comforting.

If u dont mind can u explained why u dont wear make up anymore?( I have makeup but i also barely used them, mostly just use lipstickto add colors)I used to be that kind of person who doesnt want whatsoever with makeup when im young, but now when i get older make up is somehow important(in workplace etc.), so I'm kinda curious if there is someone who doesnt wear makeup at all time

@@aleafff It's just a personal preference. I came to the realisation years ago that while I enjoyed playing with different makeup looks, I don't actually enjoy wearing it. I don't like the feeling of makeup on my skin and I can't wait to get it off. So I wore makeup less and less. Since the pandemic and wearing masks, I basically stopped altogether because what's the point? The makeup will only rub off on the masks and no one will see it anyway. Maybe I'll go back to wearing makeup in the future, but if I do, it would be a rare occasion.

@@aleafff Thats weird. I rarely see people in the workforce wear makeup. Maybe it depends on the industry. What industry you're in? Or is it a western thing? Because here in Malaysia, we dont have that "you must wear makeup rule". Actually on the flip side, people look at you weird for wearing makeup 😅

I don't wear foundation anymore. It gets too heavy and I break out a lot, especially with masks on(except the Shiseido Synchro Skin, but I save that expensive stuff for events 😆). Instead of spending money on numerous foundations, I focused on my skincare.

Over the years my husband has gotten used to me giving impromptu TED talks on why Michelle is the OG and why her narrative style is my absolute favorite, tonight though he leaned over while I was watching this and said, “wow you’re right, she’s got a super calming voice!” 🥰 Loved everything about this natural look!

I've always done this because foundation ends up looking horrible due to my naturally very dry skin. I find that if I just moisturize well, my natural skin looks way better. I realize that some people struggle with acne or other things like that though, and so not everyone wants to give up foundation :)

Seeing you grow as I grow older as well just makes me tear up. You look in a much happier place, Michelle, and I’m so glad to see you thrive. You are someone who helped me fall in love with the world of makeup as a young girl, and it’s incredible getting to see you as a college student :’)

I'm 23, been watching you from when I was 13. This is the exact look that I would do each day. All of it I've learned from your videos over the years, collecting bits of knowledge here and there. :)

I like how Michelle really considers her sponsors/PR based on her liking and actual facts. It shows how she's worked on her make up products into consideration. Unlike other social media influencers they care more about the cash grab and just move on to the next like it'll never be mentioned again.

You can tell Michell's just a lot happier and more content. I'm happy for her and LOVE how shes become so much more simple now.
