I would love a video/tutorial on how to send the sequencer to the arpegiator to get those really nice, long sequences. I'm having trouble with it. Thanks for the vids!

Got my XD not long ago and loving it so far. Looked up some tuts and came across this vid. Spent all evening trying to get the same effect he did at around the 9:00 timestamp. I managed to get close by messing around with the Rate under ARP PAMATER (SEQ EDIT), and switched Step Resolution to 1/1 (default set to 1/16), however I still have some problems with it. The step is now longer then the length of the arpeggation, so I get a sort of a gap between the notes being played in one step and the step after it. I covered the gap by putting a good amount of tape delay effect but it's just covering the silent part.. There must be a better way of doing this.. wish he explained that part of it as it sure sounds great! Got some Tron Legacy vibes there

Loving mine! A few bugs/quirks that I hope are fixable in the future: 1. ARP latch doesn't work with motion sequencer running (The arp runs while motion/play running but no latch) 2. MOTION/SMOOTH EDIT doesn't work when knob movements input with STEP MODE - doesn't smooth. 3. More SHIFT+KNOB functions - especially SHIFT+TEMPO=GATE. 4. BPM Delay SYNC 5. * ARP latch fixed with the latest update

I LOVE your BreakDown Vids, Nick!!! Thank You for the Education! Very helpful...I think I am going to hold out for this Minilogue XD. To-Tal Newbie here when it comes to Synths! You make them more approachable! Peace!

Those FX sound so good! Especially the stereo effect the chorus and ensemble add. Stereo synths IMO sound so much better for leads and pads. I can't wait for mine to arrive.

Speaking of Tape Delay, when will you fix the issue where the repeats are louder on the left side. Sometimes its just noticeable (like this video) but other times it's really distracting and makes things harder to mix.

How the heck did he get his sequencer to be as long per step as he did?! Is it just because he had the arp going as well with a slow bpm?

Is there a chaos touchpad with all instruments preloaded with real instruments sounds as part of the Korg system? It would make feel leet on guitar using a korg unit! Maybe even a whammy var knob!! Does that even exist? Because it's so cool a concept we are at a loss as a society if it does not.

Hi guys. Regarding the Arpeggiator in accordance with the steps. I have noticed that the only way to make it work is to set the rate to 16 and the step resolution to 1/4/ In this way the arp motion is fine. In any other combination of things, it seems like the minilogue is not playing the 8th note of the sequence making a space. between the steps. That's too bad because if you have an arp motion that repeats 4 times you could play with rate and use only one sequence step. Is this a known bug?

For some reason when I bring my depth control all the way down to zero and then gradually back up it instantly goes to 100%. Tried all the different knob functions with no luck. Any idea on what's happening?

Hi! I'm legally blind. Can everything be controller using only knobs and buttons? I still can see the screen but I want to avoid it at all costs since it'll give me headaches. Can I sound design easily without browsing through menus on the OLED screen? Thank you very much for your input on this.

If anyone has suggestions that would be rad. I know how he gets that first patch when he starts working with the sequencer, but after that I have no idea how he gets the patch when he turns down VCO 1 and turns up VCO 2 and uses SYNC and PITCH 2. I'm following exactly with video but I'm not getting the same results. Help please! Excellent tutorials too btw.

Is there something I am missing with this synth regarding its ability to respond to a MOD WHEEL?.... it just doesn't respond to mod wheel? No way to just set the mod wheel auto routed to the y+'s (joystick) destination? Korg makes great stuff but really odd decisions when it comes to design (keyboards with aftertouch or just don't build it with a keyboard :) and midi implementation. No mod matrix? Having to sacrifice the LFO for a lackluster "function generator"? lol. With all that said the synth can still make awesome sounds. I think it's the flexibility of the digital oscillator and effects that sucked many, including myself, into buying another 4 voice synth from Korg that seems to just annoy anyone who is used to other "normal" approaches to synths that fall into the subtractive category. Imagine what this thing could do with a legit 3rd envelope and a mod matrix? CMON MAN! lol :D

Really? You're joking, right? Nothing like it? Try the Minilogue. That's pretty close and certainly not "nothing like it". Some nice new features but nothing say planned obsolescence like releasing the same unit with a different suffix two years later. But to believe that Korg and others don't work planned obsolescence into their business plan is just naivete. @@HotStrange

  • @HotStrange

Cosmo Spacemonkey Nah it’s not. It’s got a completely different filter, completely different oscillators, a new sequencer with different features, built in effects, user wavetables and effects, an entire 2 OP FM synth inside it, a joystick with mappable parameters, and CV connections. That’s pretty much completely different. To say anything otherwise really just shows how ignorant you are regarding synthesis knowledge in general. Considering KORG has been making the Minilogue for 3 years, MS20 for 7 years, Odyssey for 5, MicroKorg for 15, Electribe for 4-5, and the Volcas and Monotrons for at least 7 years I’d say planned obsolescence is not on the docket for them at all. You’re making yourself look foolish my dude. Do you even know what planned obsolescence means? For that to be true KORG would also have to be making synths that break down easily and need repairing or replacing. This is not even close to the same thing. Get real.
