Wow! My hats off to Grace! She was getting tired. I laughed a couple of times just watching her “close-ups”. She’s definitely a champ and a wonderful model. Your cut was great. I’m a retired hairdresser and I have 2 Miniature Schnauzer’s. I have been grooming them for years. I’ve recently found your videos on clipper recommendations and one just isn’t available. I’m trying to be patient. I returned an Andis AGC back to Amazon because the blades got too hot. It takes me about 3-1/2 hours to groom 2 Schnauzers. I’m trying to decide between the Joyzze and the Kenchii and a couple more you recommended while waiting on the Wahl. I am extremely excited that I found your videos. You are a wealth of information. I aim to “ace” the Schnauzer cut one day! Thank you so much for your time! ♥

This was great. I just got a mini, and am trying to get her use to me brushing and doing her hair. Not had a dog in yrs. I just wish we had a decent groomer in my home town. There are none, and I know nothin about it. I may just keep this video and study it and practice on my dog. She's solid white, so any mess up shouldn't look too terrible on her till I get it down pretty good. Thank you so much.

I just graduated from grooming school, the issue I had was was that everyone wants pet cuts or just shave downs for this breed. As a student it was really hard to practice the breed standard cut. This is very helpful, I know a lot of this but the skirt is something I haven’t had a lot of practice in:). Thank you!

LOL....I have taken out an eyebrow or two😂😂😂😂 It Grows back... I have a black mini (Pepi) and a rescue toy silver an white (Ellie). Have had the breed for over 40 years. Just love the sassyness and how the brain works, of the schnauzer! Wow, sure learning a lot, now if I can only get them to stand still. I groom mine just a little different, I go by an old pic and instructions. But its all good. They grow out so quickly! I always “show case” the places I do not make any mistakes! 😂😂😂. How did you like paragon? Was it worth the money? I'm looking into it but I read a post where someone said it would be too hard to complete without a mentor or working at a place bathing dogs already...

I have had 2 Miniature Schnauzers. Wonderful dogs. I did the haircuts myself. My boys always looked nice. This is a very good video. You took your time, showed what blades to use, and how to cut and scissor. Thank you! It can be a challenge, because the dogs don't always stay still and will move at the last second.

I have watched a lot of grooming videos and I have been grooming my own dogs almost 20 years. (2 M. Schnauzers, a terrier mix and a Bouvier des Flanders) Your videos are the best!! I appreciate you showing everything and not cutting out parts. How about a video on grooming a Bouvier des Flanders? There aren't many. Thank you!!

Oh Amy, Grace looks so beautiful. She looks like my little Gypsy except where Grace has white Gypsy has gray or silver. Gypsy and I enjoyed watching you groom Grace. I take Gypsy to a local groomer and they make her look beautiful. I have a male schnauzer, Ozzy. He is a party colored schnauzer. He bites so I have been grooming him at home. I do ok, I can make him look cute. He sometimes will pee in the floor and walk in it so I trim his feet like a poodle but I think he looks cute. I don't go up far just far enough his feet won't stay really wet. He was in a near fatal accident a year ago at 2 months old and he has some brain damage. He has improved to almost normal but will bite and sometimes has accidents. I love him dearly. Thanks so much for your videos. You have been such a help with getting the right clippers, I bought Wahl KM10 and love them. You have given so many tips that have helped me. I love watching you work. You are an artist in dog grooming.

@@GoGroomer There isn’t a “Jodi Murphy 46 tooth Outliner Shear” on Kenchii’s site. On Jodi’s site it’s $235 but I can’t afford that for grooming my 1 mini schnauzer. Which Kenchii thinning shear would you recommend in their level 1 product line (e.g. the ones that cost about $99)?

I have giant schnauzers and groom them. I don’t like the chest, front legs or beard being so long. I think they need to be shorter and blended (layered) more. Just my way of doing it. But yours is beautiful!!

Great learning videos! We have two 5 month old mini schnauzer siblings, male and female. I have invested in quality equipment to groom my pups and I'm having issues doing their faces that are challenging me, specifically, continues to jerk head, then he gets frustrated with me and begins fussing. What do you recommend? Also, would like to purchase your DVD.

I've seen some groomers as well as breeders literally pull hair out of the ears on the Schnauzers, which seems painful. I didn't see you do that on the Schnauzer puppies or older Schnauzers that you have videos on. Is this needed and if so are there pros and cons in doing this, as well as safety measures? Love your videos, you are so professional and kind to dogs and owners. Thank you for sharing your talent and teaching it!

Any shampoo is fine, it doesn’t need to be whitening. Bath and condition every 3 weeks, brush every week.

how long does it take to get a M-Sch that comfortable. Mine is still very ainxious about her feet being touched, we have had her groomed once and told she was good, but at home not so much, Does the right set up to leash them off make a differece, or is it just the regular effort/training to get them used to it?

@@GoGroomer ok, I’m trying regularly but I think unless o have her on a table with leash tied off above her head she has too much choice in not participating. Ive heard they do behave more once they understand there is no choice.

I have bearded collie , also a double coat like the schnauzer. I hear it's bad to trim short because it damages the undercoat. When is it ok? He gets quite heated in summer. Would like to trim him short like you did behind the ears for this pup

Hi.. Grace has such a beautiful coat. I have a question that I’m really curious about and would love your expertise. My salt and pepper schnauzer coat is very grey now where the black once was. I was told it’s because she should be hand stripped. However I see Grace still has her beautiful black coat. My schnauzer is only 1 1/2. Can you please tell me what I can do to help her coat keep its black color. It seems like pretty soon she’ll be all grey. I also have a all black schnauzer that’s 6 months and Im terrified to get him groomed bc I don’t want him to loose his color. What do you suggest?

Grace is a phantom and that’s why her black is so black. You cannot do anything to stop the coat from taking in its natural color. Can take until 2 years old to truly transition from puppy coat to adult.

What blade are you using on the face?

Should you trim body before bath or after? Then comb dry and trim up?

You will get a smoother finish if you prep the coat before clipping.

She looks beautiful but In Germany we learn to trim by hand 🖐🏻 not cut with the Blade... It's very important for the skin to remove the death hair on a schnauzer without cutting! Or is there a reason why you don't do it? 🤔

Hanstripping is ideal for the schnauzer. 💖 This one has a soft coat, cannot hand strip.
