Mini Submarine Tutorial in Stormworks (Engineer Explains)
Ойындар
In this video, 454ss shows how to make a simple minisub, including a ballast tank, controls and a depth hold PID. This is intended for intermediate users.

Thank you. The stormworks community had been needing a newer submarine tutorial!
I’d love to see a big submarine or a war based sub from you it would be so well made
Another solution to your throttle issue is a "deadzone" microcontroller that outputs 0 within some threshold you like, and the input number otherwise. It's just a switchbox and a threshold, or you could use less than/greater than with properties if you want to make it configurable without having to edit the microcontroller. Costs 2 blocks, also reducing the footprint vs reverse button + function block
thanks for the video. Could you do a tutorial on fuel economy on boats with simple diesel engines without the massive loss of speed? along with a video about gearbox configurations without microcontrol, please

you get the most torque for fuel around 8 rps, use gearboxes to slow ur engine down to 8 rps at max throttle

Fit a huge engine, gets a lot of torque, and converts the torque into rps via gearbox. Same with a modular engine but more cylinder/larger size
Every time I try to use a submarine these days I end up dying from suffocation. I'd love to use subs, but it seems broken, so I've avoided using them lately. You'd think one could simply wear diving gear, but nope.

You can add oxygen or air into the cabin via compressed air tank, but just make sure not to make such high pressure, that will harm your character!
Hey 454. I have a recommendation. I find alot of micro controllers... unreliable. Would you mind posting some of yours. Of course (if) you post ur transmission I would change the screen to prevent poeple copying your screens. Yet again this is just a recommendation. Don't feel obligated to do this. Have a good rest of your day. Cheers😊

They are the most reliable thing in stormworks it just depends who built it
Thank you 🙏
I need to study engineering before playing this game🤨

I showed how to build a minisub but not the details of making every little part! After watching you should be able to build a good minisub

@@454ss_gaming It was a little joke about submarines and depths hahaha. Your video is really good. I'm going back to Stormworks after a few years and I'm doing a marathon through your videos. Its helping me a lot. A light in the dark, truly!!

The depth hold micro controller should THEORETICALLY work as cruis control as weelllll???

Yes but you would have to change the pid

Would using an impeller or something make it pump faster?
so easy to throw engineer round on youtube with no real backing 😅

In my country it is illegal to claim to be an engineer without actually being one!
They need to remove those stupid diamonds on the weight blocks or let us alpha colour them. They look so annoying.
