Mini silage bagger

This is my mini silage bagger that I bought from Farm tech Canada. No longer do I have to feed low nutritional value hay or have to over pay for hay. Now I just make my own silage every time I mow.

I’m not exactly sure. but if you have a herd of goats around twenty more, it’s well worth it. plus your animals will be healthier throughout winter eating silage verses feeding hay even if you supplement good grain in with it.

It does. Wonderful piece of equipment. Well worth the investment. Has a few dos and donts. Biggest is don’t try to run hay length grass through it. It will clog and slow you down. Best is grass that’s mowed every week to two weeks (at least with proper rain).

Do you feel the machine is durable and will last a long time?

I do. It’s held up so far to some pretty high usage

    Where are you getting bags?

I ordered the clear ones from staples. The white ones that come with it are nice but sized just so they fit. The ones from staples are a inch wider and makes it easier to “load” onto the bagger. Now they don’t last out in the sun. So you’ll need to store them inside.

What do you use to cut that allows you to select the cut length?

I just use my John Deere riding mower. I cut on a higher setting so the grass grows quicker but only cut about every week to two weeks depending on how much rain we got. You can also read of it in farmshow magazine.
