Hi there Tweedbean. I have a question if I may? I have a 2002 (pre face-lift) mini cooper S R53. I'm doing a double din stereo conversation, which is a right faff, but I want my car updated and modernised a bit. The head unit I bought has a reversing camera port, so I thought "why not" and bought a camera kit off ebay. I've got the camera fitted near the number plate, and the cable running from the back of the head unit towards the back of my car. Thing is I can't find anywhere internal to splice into the reverse light cable. I don't know where the cable goes from the center of the bumper, I don't want to connect it there, as a cable splice near a very hot exhaust, and it could also get wet and cause big issues under the car. Pretty please, can you help me find this? Do you have any idea where it passes through the car?

Sorry im not sure but there are plenty of R53 wiring diagrams online you can use to identify the right wires

Nice tutorial. But this is too much work if you are planning on just replacing the rear speakers. You can take out the rear seat bottom part, then rubber around the door trim and just pull on the side panels. Gives enough space for speakers

Me personally it’s only an 8 min video so not exactly too much work and saves putting any strain on the panel/having lots of room to work in. But agree you could do it your way
