Can you share your opinion about the 6 speed auto gearbox? have you driven the jcw 8 speed auto?

I haven’t driven the 8 spend but the 6 speed is great. The only thing is that I wish it had a 7th gear when driving on the motorway. Other than that it’s great

I thought you always drive your cars in sport mood?

I do I just had to experiment to see what MPG I could get out of it and I was very impressed

😂 no shame to drive in normal mode, I even drive my 335d in eco mode in town.

Hi Josh, I love it! Do you only get the pops and bangs when you put it in manual mode? I’ve just rest driven an automatic 67 plate and was disappointed. In automatic, I didn’t get the pops and bangs, even in sports mode. Everything was stock. How does it work from your experience? David

Also, am i right in thinking, you only get the pops and bangs when you shift to 'manual mode;' opposed to 'Drive" automatic

I get the pops as soon as I put it in sport mode. Whether it’s in automatic or manual it doesn’t matter. Obviously if you are in manual you can rev it higher and hold the revs

If your mini is equipped with an opf then the pops and bangs would be reduced to little to none unfortunately. I have a pre lci auto and it pops a lot!

Test driving a JCW on Thursday ! Really want to like it after having an R56 cooper S but having driving my partners cooper s I felt quite disconnected on the F56 . I don’t know :( praying the harder suspension gives me that solid feeling I had in the old gen .

@@ASecureLab I ended up buying one !!!! Got the sport suspension which is just stiffer springs but feels good ! Planning on a stiffer anti roll bar and some BC club sport coil overs as well :) No way near as raw as my old R56 but I can appreciate it none the less. Sat in 40 zone for several miles and it averaged 60mpg cant complain. Does about 23 in the city in Sport mode hahah but 47 on dual carriageway at 70. The 8 speed is really quite impressive :) Not to mention the HK is miles and miles ahead of what I had before. I do love a mini , this is now my 3rd one but I've driven 5 different ones in total. Im hooked !!!! I had been toying with the idea of an M140i as well but I think I might regret it. Not ready to make that leap I dont think .
