finley was definitely my favorite! her musicality was great and she adapted so well to the music it looked like choreography!! i liked how she also did a lot of dancing instead of tricks.

Finally for sure she wasn’t just doing tricks she was doing actually moves and she was so supportive to!

People commented the song was bad. I think some of the girls dance moves could have been to any song. But Finley's dance seemed to be perfectly timed with the song. Even her face expressions were timed to perfection.

I think for the kids on the younger end of the spectrum a lot of the teachers give them a routine and then just say to do it in time with the music. It's in some of the junior kids too. Or just they tell them to throw all their hard skills that they do well in their solos. This is old school bop and the four count is really obvious so it's easy to dance to; but it doesn't lend itself to slow movements like tilts, legholds and handstands; no matter how good you make them look.

Finley’s musicality ate.

Finley was the only one who’s dancing actually matched the music and wasn’t just a show off of tricks which is super talented for the age group

I liked Roxies outfit and dance and I liked Finley because her dance was smooth

finley and harper were definitely my top two! they are all so amazing!

Exceptional! So much time money talent and a whole lot of heart has gone into each and every one of these dancers training. You can see how much they all love to dance. Congratulations ladies! You were all spectacular and so fun to watch.

Every one of these girls are amazing. So beautiful. Only personal opinion but I've noticed in all comps there is sooo much acro and tricks and so little dancing. I saw some firebird and 2 sets of turns but that was all the actual DANCE steps. Again all amazing and beautiful 😍

Yes!! It’s extreme acro , gymnastics and tricks - all performing the same moves with very little actual dancing. But the music was a poor choice, very uninspiring.

In minis is very common for them to trick around the stage. The older girls do more dancing than acro.

Thanks for explaining. I would never be able to do any of the acro they do. I've been a dance instructor for 30years and our team just started competing. And the one thing we don't do is acro. I always feel like personally it's so hard to compete with dancers that can do acro. They are so amazing and then there is us amazing dancers but can't hold a candle to a front Ariel into a front limber. Lol

Acro is short for acro dance which is a style of dance

I think most of them did way to many legs holds for how fast the song was

@@dpguinee The point of improv is to show off what you can do. It doesn’t matter if you do a million tricks. As long as you have good technique and you be confident anything can be improv.

I feel bad. Some kids had much better cuts in the music. I also feel so, so bad for the kids who clearly don’t have huge studios in the audience cheering for them. It seems so unfair. But they all did so amazing. They are so young. I think it’s odd that the people who wrote comments seemed to like one skill this year. Years past it’s been the tricks. I want the best DANCER. I want to see talented dancing. Technique, tricks, musicality, lines, turns, performance quality, etc.-- they are ALL important. The kids who could really dance were clear to me. Some of those lines, leaps, balances, etc. were incredible. Sure some were cuter and decided to give more performance and straight little dancing bits…but I want to be wowed by what I know that dancer can do every single day as a dancer. It will be interesting to see if any of these young ones go on to do professional dancing. One or two look like they could actually join a major company one day. Congrats to them all! (And was one really 6?!? No, no way!!!)
