Mini Documentary "Stones That Speak" featuring silversmith, jeweler & artist Albert Lee of Shiprock

Our world has suffered a tragic and great loss with the departing of Albert Lee. Our hearts & prayers go out to his family & friends. He was a giant light & inspiration. We are grateful for the beauty he brought to the world, not just in his artwork but in the way he treated those he interacted with. Albert was full of love. He was an incredible artist, brother, son and friend. We morn his loss but enjoy the happiness his memories and LIVING ART bring with them. We were very fortunate to have the relationship with Albert we had. We were very fortunate to be one of the select few to carry his art. He will be forever missed by all of us here at Tanner Trading.
We were working on this very special documentary project with Albert the last few months and were only about half way completed. We are so grateful to share some of the amazing footage and interviews we captured with him and his father.
There is no question Albert was “one of the great ones” in the world of Native American / Navajo Art. But his genuine personality truly set him apart.
You will be greatly missed Albert!!! It was an honor to know and work with you. Your bright soul will live through the legacy of your incredible work. Grateful to call you friend.

WoW, Mr. Lee, You speak from the heart about your creations and what they mean to you. I have been silversmithing now for 2 years and come from a Rock Hound family. Now I am retired and have time for my own creations. I have always been drawn to the Native American works and what they mean. I am especially taken with the green Turquoise and brown matrix. So as you say, go with what you like and let the stone talk to you. You are very inspiring, I know this video was a year ago, but I hope you have been able to see your dream get closer if not come true.

Beautiful ❤ They’re so blessed! It is a world wide known of Native American jewelry, art, culture! I always wanted to adopt a native baby boy/ girl and put through law school and study the constitution, in order to retrieve a lot of their land 💜♥️

What a beautiful soul this man was. I love his knowledge and love for what he has created. Hawaiians refer his concept of the creations he has done as Mana. A spiritual sense of power and life breathed into each of his works of art. Thank you for this wonderful video of this extraordinary man and father.

This video came in my KZread feed and I love his work.... I am from New Mexico and eptx ... Both my grand parents on both sides were native NM family's. Paternal side was from LasVegas, NM... My mother and her family born and raised in Tucumcari, NM. My mom's dad was Aztec and Cherokee Indian. So we all have been fans of Jewelry. I lost my daddy in February I wanted to have Albert take my dad's jewelry (rings, bracelets, and bolo ties) to make me and my kids some memorial pieces. So I'm sad to see he has too passed away. I will pray for your family's comfort. Maybe you and my daddy are sharing info in heaven watching us all now from up above. God bless you... Albert if you are up there listening.... Hug my Daddy's neck for me.

A fantastic video, as an artist I can actually feel his words. He speaks from the heart and is an amazing artist. Such a beautiful video really hits the heart of being a jewelry maker and a cabber. One of the best videos I have seen in a long time.

Your Artwork is STUNNING !! I’m only 3 years into smithing and lapidary so I’m still making a lot of “ mistakes to learn from” lol. The finish you achieve is unreal. How do you get the silver do flawlessly shiny? You mentioned taking a long time in the buffing process, do you use white Diamond? Any tips would be hugely appreciated. I went up to care for my dad at the start of the pandemic and that’s when he started teaching me. He taught me right up until he crossed over so it was a huge parting gift from him that I hold very sacred. You have such a unique style. Your work really speaks. I just love it. Thanks for making this video:)
