Love it! Not easy though - need a few more hours on the ice

Not surprised to see you dressed up warm as there's no more heat coming off a MkI mini engine than from any EV. You also managed to get out of the "long cross country drive" experience-incredible to believe these were considered family cars when first shipped. In its favour: the toy corners because it's got almost no weight and such a low centre of gravity.

@@bmwblog I think I spent more time fixing mine than driving. I learned a lot about car maintenance though…

@@bmwblog my mother gave it to me as she was fed up with it breaking down. I had it a year and then gave it to my sister for the same reason. After six months it died completely. A key design flaw *in a country where it rains a lot* is that all the electrics were behind the radiator grille and simply stopped working in bad weather. On may way back from a winter trip to Scotland I had to come off the motorway as half the spark plugs had given up; get onto a side road, clean everything, spray with WD-40, tape up a plastic bag over it and then carry on driving south at 40 mph. After a while it got up to 50-60 so I could get back on the motorway, but I still had to come off at every service station for some extra engine cleaning. It’s why I don’t have EV range anxiety: I’m confident that my iX1 will get me home if I charge it up every 150+ miles. The mini, even after a break every 30+ miles still had no guarantee of arrival. No, I don’t miss it.
