How do you know when your key fob is bad? I have a 2011 mini and the fob opens doors, turns on light but wont start the engine....it is completely dead! No crank, no nothing in the engine compartment. Could this be the fob or do you think it's electrical like a "starter relay" or something? Please feel free to comment.

@@skilletrox1 It did end up being the Fob. We bought a new one on ebay and had the dealer program it. Total around $200. But if you already had another fob you should have known it wasn't something inside the hood?

It was Mini of Nashville. That was FOB only, key was another 30ish as I recall.

Mini key hospital can only fix keys but cannot replace them. Just fyi
