After watching this video, I no longer think grooming is overpriced! Great job!
I have never seen a well-behaved dog like Clover. She takes grooming in her stride. I give respect to the owner.

The groomer probably trained the dog for this. Normally that is how it happens and when people go to different groomers, it isn't a good experience for the dog or groomer. Find a groomer and stick with them. Pick one that is educated and went to school to learn. Certification is great too but hard to find. Give the groomer the credit.
My mini Bernedoodle Theo would never be this calm during grooming 😂 This is amazing

How much does your dog weight? I’m getting one in September
What a great haircut! Clover is a cute girl! 🐕
I absolutely love the looks of all of your four legged babies as you pamper them 💕
I appreciate you saying the clipper size! Nobody mentions that in their videos. I’ve watched soooo many!

Great Job!!
What a great job you did!
Clover is the cutest!!! And she really does have the most perfect hair. Looked so easy to groom!! Lol
Aww she looks like my 4 month old fur baby Chief. Love this cut! Beautiful job ❤😊
She looks adorable. I have a mini too. She's 4 months.
I just got a mini berne doodle so this is going to be quite helpful. He's only 3 months old now.
Such a good groomer! Thanks!
Clover is beautiful but omg YOUR hair is so beautiful!! So shiny and thick. 😍
Wow hard work leads to a great finished product

Great video. You obviously love what you do
kelly this was your best video due to the go-pro and the details it provided. Thanks! And I obviously am biased because it's a bernedoodle :-)
You’re a great groomer!!!!
You are amazing!!! Great job! I have a wonderful groomer... Matty from Pet Snobs in Philly...and you and her are very similar... GREAT JOB
She looks just like our Bernedoodle Xander! The only difference is that he’s a 7 1/2 month old standard and weighs almost 80 pounds. Nice job!
Love it
Wow great finished

Thank you so much 😊 ❤️
Thank you for the video. We have a five month old Bernedoodle and have been trying to find a groomer for her. Everyone is so booked if they are good and some I have visited I don’t believe people leave their dogs there. I used to groom our two cockers, but really have been nervous of taking on her grooming. I think maybe watching your video may give me the courage I need to try. I know my first cut will not be perfect, but I might have to try if I can’t find someone I can trust with my furball.
Thanks for this Video
I cant believe she is a 5 month old mini 🫨

I thought she would grow to be so big based on how big she was at 5 months but weirdly enough she hardly got bigger then this. I still groom her today and she’s very petite.
Hi Kelly, enjoyed your video. We are a few weeks from picking up our Bernaddoodle puppy. I would really like to be the one to cut our pups hair since I have a good bit of time during the week. Grew up watching my mom groom dogs for shows etc. Cheers!
popped up on my feed! subscribed :)
Thanks for doing this video, I’ve had St Bernard’s all my adult life and on Tuesday I adopt a 7m old Bernedoodle so I am watching as many videos as I can on grooming her as I have a doggy wet room and all the grooming equipment but I’ve never had a curlywurly dog 😌 My vertigo did kick off at one point though when you were combing her with the camera whizzing around🤣🤢
Wish you worked near Albuquerque, NM YOU ARE GREAT!!!
What do you use for the sanitary cut/paws?
So cute! I have watched this video multiple times! By the way, what are you putting in the ears to pluck the ears? Thank you!!
Where are you?? Please come to Seattle so you can groom my mini Bernedoodle! 🥺
Hi Kelly, great video. I had a general question (as someone who has never washed or groomed a dog). Hair dressers always say cutting hair wet on men and women is better, is this not the case on dogs? Thanks and keep up the great videos.
I have a mini Burnadoodle that just recently got a haircut she was matted our groomer shaved her . she doesn’t not like to be brushed if me or my mom tries to brushed her . We tried to avoid having her shaved it really hard to get her brushed because we’re not certain on the type of brush to use. any suggestions on what type of brush we can used to avoid having her shaved again .
what kind of coat does clover have? Do you know if she is F1 or F1b?
Damn I hope our Mini B gets at least that big.
When did the comb out brush out happen? I'm a master groomer. Just wondering. I cage dry partially and finish by blow drying with brush out. A butch blade(not sure what other people call it) doesn't work with knots, it has to be perfectly combed out so wondering how you do that right out of the cage. Not being critical. Also what about inside the ears and stuff? Nice job. I just love the stand drying method.
What size of trimmer do you use, we took our Bernadoodle to get trimmed and they shaved him like a poodle
That looks like so much work! I'm getting a Bernadoodle pup soon and was considering saving on costs by doign this myself. NOPE! What's the going rate for the type of grooming you did in this video? Thanks!
So, do most dogs/puppies remain still & manageable while grooming them, especially while bathing them? Are there dogs you have to muzzle, & if so, wouldn't they be near impossible to groom, guessing that they would fight you all the while?
Hi you said you used the 7/8 clipper comb but over what blade? I want his legs to be fluffy.
I have mini Bernedoodles like Clover. Where can I buy some good clippers?
I have a 4 month old Bernedoodle. I’ve taken him to 2 diff places and they bathed him but both said he would not be still enough to groom. Should I buy clippers and try at home?
How does the razer not cut off all her hair?
Can someone tell me what are they using to clean the ears?
Hi! Great video I have a 6 month old Bernedoodle. When I take her to the groomers what cut do I ask for to make my baby as beautiful 😍 as 🍀 Clover. Thanks
Great video, getting a mini BD in about 2 weeks. Is there a name for that cut or do I tell the groomer to use a 7/8 clipper comb. By chance you're not in KY are you?

I'm planning to get one of those Doodles. Kelly, could you please share what tools would you recommend?
I’m sorry what size blade and comb did you use?
What kind of dog clippers are those?
❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕
Forgive me if someone has already asked this question, but what solution do you put in their ears to then remove the hair growth?
I have a bernedoodle, what brand of clipper are you using? Also, what # should I use for winter cut?

I’m using the Andis Pulse ZR Galaxy clippers! They are very nice to use and quiet, but they are very expensive. I love the andis brand of clippers in general! It really depends what you prefer length wise, but if you live in a snowy area and want to make sure your dog is warm but also short enough that snow doesn’t cause matting and a mess, I would recommend using the 5/8th in comb! It still looks nice and not short, but it’s easy to maintain. If you go any longer you’ll need to make sure you doing daily brushing and combing and whenever your dog gets wet, try to dry and brush immediately after coming inside to prevent mats!
What do you put in the ears prior to plucking & any tips on ear plucking?
@kellythegroomer8672
3 жыл бұрын
I use Groomers Ear Powder. There are several different brands, and you can usually find it at any pet supplies store. It helps to take the moisture out of the ears, allows you to grip the hair and some even help prevent bacterial infections. My tip is practice makes perfect for both you and your dog. Most dogs don’t like it, so getting them use to having their ears touched and plucking in small amounts and rewarding often. It’s very important to pluck ear hair so keep trying even if it’s not easy at first. Thanks for the question!

Yes, I go over her at the very end with the 7/8” comb to just make sure everything is nice and even and give the best finishing look! 👌
Hello I’m new here I like to know a shampoo and conditioner brand and the comb (a) ?
What did you put in her ears and did you pull the hair out?
Great video what blade do you usually use under your attachments

Thank you! I always use a 30 blade under attachments. I’ve had to improvise and use a 15 or a 10 a few times and it’s ok, but 30 is the correct blade to use.
I am just wondering why Bernedoodles are given just short dramatic more like poodle haircut changing entire look of a Bernedoodle and their beautiful wavy/curly coat? We just got a mini Bernedoodle puppy and we fell in love with their teddy bear look so why cut them so short? I am just little confused since I have seen some bernedoodles who didn’t look like the same dog after a haircut. Thanks for

Thanks for your question! My go to shampoo brand is almost always Tropiclean. I really like all of their formulas, it just depends on what breed and your dogs coat type, which one is best. I most often use their Hypoallergenic Shampoo on almost all of my clients, but I also LOVE their Deshed shampoo and conditioner if you have a dog that has undercoat. All of their shampoos are gentle and smell amazing, but they are powerful enough to clean the dirtiest of dogs!

I use so many different tools but in this particular groom, I believe I used either a 7/8th or 3/4th inch snap on clippers comb with a 30 blade underneath! Then I generally use 7 or 7.5 scissors. Straights, curved and thinners.
What size clipper are you using for the paws? Thank you!

@@kevinjames1587 I have worked at numerous dog grooming locations, I have 3 certifications, I even own my own shop. In my many years of experience the only groomers who don't use a 40 are ones who are brand new to grooming. I have never met an experienced groomer who doesn't use a 40. And if you are one I don't understand why. It is not risky at all if you know what you are doing.

What is that you are putting in her ears? Is it hair remover? It seems like you are pulling hair out of the ear when you do that.
@kellythegroomer8672

Yes, it’s groomers ear powder, it helps you grab onto the ear hair and be able to remove it. That is essential for poodle mixes to have done if they grow hair in their ears!

Hi! I saw your video from start to finish. You did a great job. I am also a dog groomer. I have yet to groom a bernedoodle successfully. I would do the longest guard comb that will go through. The pet parents always think its so short. I do not understand what the pet parents are looking for. How do you determine a good length and what do you do if they are matted?
@Edendog
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Elizabeth! I know exactly what you’re talking about with the various doodles. A lot of them have such a cottony coat... The thing that has worked best for me with clients and length is first show the owners how to properly line brush. They NEVER know!! You’d think breeders would get on the ball with that one, but I’ve yet to get any -oodle that has even heard of line brushing, or has the right equipment. If you sell brushes in your shop, this might be a win/win also! They get the right tools for the coat their dog has and you can get some minor compensation for your time. You can even make a video explaining it and have them watch, but since each mix coat is so dang different, I find hands on in-person education to work the best. If you can get the owner to brush properly daily they will be able to get a hand-scissor and that longer coat they want. Also-I always recommend they get an inexpensive hv dryer. There are some under $200 on Amazon that work fine. A blow out after each bath at home helps to stop them packing the coat in and once a week a blow out is necessary if they really want a long coat. Beauty takes effort!! Curved combs help with hand scissoring and make sure you charge for your time. Once you’ve really educated them and told them how much you’d love to give them exactly what they want, they can decide if they want to put in the effort And half the time they won’t want to, and will be happy with the shorter cut! And the other half the time you’ll get beautifully kept-up coats you love grooming. Also, owners need to be educated on proper shampoo dilution and rinsing for doodles because they can really wreck the coat with doing that poorly at home. Education, education, education! Plus a ton of patience. And maybe sell some of those products to get a little reimbursement for your time doing that Hope that helps!
@Edendog
3 жыл бұрын
Oh, also! I have owners that prefer that I spray the finished coat with water and a texturizing spray when I’m done and sort of scrunch it back up so it looks more wavy and natural since they tend to not like the straightened out hair. I know, spend all that time brushing and straightening with the dryer just to wet it down a bit and give them those beach waves they want can be frustrating 😂 But it only takes a few mins and a bit of extra time for that last bit to air dry, but it makes lots of owners happy with their clip!! Xoxo
This was a great video. I have a mini bernadoodle and appreciate your explanation and work. Would you please share the name of the clippers you use? You also mentioned you use a 7/8 clip. Do you recommend a larger size for curlier hair? Lastly, it looks like you are using along with cutting shears, thinning shears. Would you please recommend the brand and size. Greatly appreciate your time in answering my question. Your new fan!!! Nancy

@@yelenahandabak8011 do you live in the u.s if yes what part I’ve got some list breeder from following good doodle breeder on instagram
So I don't know what to do and what would be recommended from you because I had been taking my service dog bernedoodle into a Pet Place store that had a small in a pet grooming place in the back and those ladies really are newbies are not very familiar with my dog breed and you know there was a little bit what is the standard for a Bernese golden labrador doodle Langsford during the Summers when it gets really hot out I'm with this be a recommendation or maybe a little bit more or on him and then you know let it grow out for the Autumn and summer but like I said what they did was they didn't even contact me to let me know that they couldn't get the few little Matt's out which it wasn't serious matting. Even my service dog trainer said there was little bit of matting that would be easily you know taking care of with the with a conditioner and grooming him out during dating so they had no reason to go and just shave him all down like that now he has a little bit of tender and he's pitching on and off throughout the week it is very frustrating this is only the second or third time that I gave him a chance to do that him his grooming right because it cost money and and I don't want him feeling miserable like he is a tunic sent right now with the dander in the it's on and off so I'm trying to find that I use pride and groom for a shampoo and conditioner on my other dog and my two cats like to swim in the bathtub but I am just like really concerned and you know I don't understand this these two young ladies I had explained what needed to be done on ask him if they knew what they were doing and they just decided to take a short and cut and literally talk like shave off all his fur and that is not what you do to this breed and if there's a little bit of matting you'll work it out if it's not that bad and that Manning was not that bad. Every other day, I groom out my Bernie's Golden Lab Doodle, tell that little bit of matting that they're making out to big and big deal should not have been a big deal like they made it and then they should never have to shave them down like they did in Florida and I paid over $100 for that it was ridiculous. How long will it take for his fur to grow back and what should I eat no do in the meantime for shampoo for his itchy and dander that came after they shave him to low without my permission of course to do what they did and is it going to affect his hair growing out when it gets Fuller
I thought you should never get soap near a dog eyes, can cause injury
my dog is so much more bohtered by water than this pup and i started grooming her early. my mini bernedoodle is a wuss
why the mask ???????????????????????
