Wow that is the best 6th order design I have ever seen I like how you almost t lined the ports bet that little 4 inch woofer boom

Thanks! Definitely surprising performance out of a 4" driver. My only recommended change would be make the box 4 inches taller and go with 1/2 inch ports to eliminate some of the port chuffing.

I really like that bro i actually made a 4th order with an 8 in driver and it did what it was supposed to do but it didnt accommodate music as i would have liked but it was fun ( mine did NOT look near that good)...

Thanks! Tough little cabinet to build. Surprising bass from a 4" woofer.

Nice build! Did you confirm the resonance frequencies and overall frequency response were a match for what WinISD predicted?

I could only do an In-room response with R.E.W. since my test equipment is anchored to a desktop. Knowing that most in room measurements below 200Hz are problematic, I only did a few nearfield measurements at 12 inches from the top port. Pretty flat response from 42Hz-95Hz with nice roll offs on both ends. 95Hz was a little higher than the modeled 80Hz. I must be a little lean on cubic volume in the rear chamber.

@@DonnieMulligan As both vents are the same size, another way to accurately measure the response would be to close-mike each vent (less than 2cm) and just add the response in REW. You should check the actual resonance frequencies with DATS or something similar. The resonance frequencies will be at the valleys in the impedance curve.

@@Grommet2007I did that as well. It near the end of my video. I don't own DATS yet. Future purchase.

I wish i had the skills to make these, I'm trying to find one for my Mini Cooper using a 6.5 Subwoofer.

Nice result, but people have a tendency to make the ports way more complicated than they need to be. Folding back and forth is not the easy or efficient way to do it.

Definitely not easy, but it is a very efficient use of space. The whole cabinet is only .55 cubic feet.

@@DonnieMulligan just for shits and giggles I redrew your cabinet to the exact dimensions you show / mention in the video. You can keep the exact same external dimensions without weaving the port back and forth. I have seen people weave like that plenty of times before, but it is totally unnecessary. If you like I can send you a picture showing the easy way to do it.

@@DonnieMulligan what's planned for your next build? I've been working on some final designs for my upcoming speaker projects. Got some real out of the box projects in mind.
