    I hope for open-source projects like klipper and mainsail (not to forget moonraker) that the manufacturers of all these professional printers have planned a reasonable budget for sponsoring them. Beyond that I hope that the licenses are respected and that the source code is made available if necessary. 🤞

    Seems quite slow for such a big printer, but I suppose it's hard to make everything rigid at that size

  • @TD-er

    @TD-er

    7 ай бұрын

    I expect that at this size you should expect it not to be rigid and thus apply real-time compensation for bending of materials. I know in 3D CNC metrology, there are systems using lasers to measure bends to apply compensation when measuring at sub-micron resolution on larger 3D measuring machines. Especially when using scanning probes you need to at least record the bends/errors in real-time. So maybe they do have quite extensive calibration data of how that specific machine behaves with the extrusion head at every position and given some acceleration.

  • @Jonathan-ub9ch

    Doesn't need to move the head very fast to extrude huge amounts if the nozzle is big. My MK3S with .6mm high flow nozzle and 0.3mm layer height can do just over 1kg per 24h. I'm sure this beast can extrude much faster

I don't blame him at all, but I'm just explaining my thought process for the surprise at seeing a company that repeatedly can't perform being featured. Maybe they've finally cleaned up their act and wont have things like ducts being lower than print nozzles, and have printers that come out with firmware that is fully baked. I guess we'll see, but I don't have high hopes.

    For these big printers, wouldn't it make since to run 3mm filament with a 1mm nozzle, instead of a 1.75mm filament and .4mm nozzle? If you are going to print large items usually you don't need fine detail or want to wait 3 days or a week for a print, when it can be done in a day.

    Quality can still matter, and if its a protyping step even if it takes a week to print it will be way quicker than creating an injection or vacuum form mold etc and uses much less man hours than hand forming and assembling (though that could be quicker espeically if the precision doesn't need to be really high). There are absolutely folks that need huge and strong prints quickly, and for those might even be worth going to larger than 1mm nozzle and direct pellet extrusion, and every step inbetween.

  • @MrSweetHart6976

    @@foldionepapyrus3441 I've experimented with bigger nozzles and you can still get the "quality", by using a small layer height setting. And the wider filament lines "usually" create bigger bonding layers so it makes a stronger print.

Just two walls and low infill will take much the same time on the same machine as the head can only move so fast but the finer nozzle gives a better surface finish.

It was bigger and had some cool features that IMO set it way ahead. Tossing Klipper on the machine would solve all of the complaints I have to be honest. Its just a bummer that they want to stick with the open frame bed slingers for consumer products, especially on the large format Pro machine. If they did one that was coreXY and had clipper with the same 400mm cube work area for 6-700 bucks, they'd have a machine that would dominate. I would buy that in a heartbeat.

    Dnk how's your english so clear being you german, you only have a little sharp pronounce but's the deutsch accent while your spoken english is perfect. How did you manage to found the only chinese I've ever heard speaking english with a mix of nigerian and indian accent? He's rare! :D sorry I couldn't un-notice it :D

    I know, right? That's the thing with "sponsored videos": no matter how shitty the product or how dubious the seller, you must sugar coat it and feed it to the masses. They're too stupid to notice

    I buy my printers from a UK vendor and on their website they have a Creality Industrial printer Piced at over £20,000 this has been there for years yet I have never heard of anyone buying one and have never seen a review of it, I guess its because no one in the Industrial realm trusts Creality, hell if Creality released a printer like this Mingda you could bet they would send it with a 0.4mm nozzle! LOL

    No mention of the prices? On their website it’s also upon request. That usually means it’s very high. Anyways thanks for the review Stephan.
