Absolutely no contest the first one sounds light years ahead.....richer, deeper, colourful and huge.

MJZ 909 is more mellow, richer and deeper. Winner! Mystery violin #2 😊 I absolutely love these vids. Looking forward to them every day. Do you guys have a job for me at your shop? I would be on a violin-high all day long.

Great job and good ears! This is something I usually do with my colleagues and students when trying instruments in person, so I'm glad it worked via KZread as well.

It’s very difficult to tell. Why? Because they don’t have identical strings. Strings make a difference in tone. Basics! Intonation?

Too much Chinese sound on both violins.

If it was a Strad with a Chinese name (which would never happen) I bet you would still say the same thing.

Jay Rao, on the cell phone both sound great, but with good speakers they sound like erhu

Ok, in the high register, they both sound pretty good. However, in the low register (strings G and D) the sound is too opaque. And, of course, Michael plays very well.

Yo Mendez, the Kono is made in Chiba Japan, the prefecture just north of Tokyo. You obviously don't know what you are talking about.
