4:29 Right when he entered the nether the fort was visible in the back. It's a bit tricky to see for the untrained eye. Also if you didn't catch it he didn't get a sixth rod he gambled for a two eye and got a 4 eye. Also you have to appreciate just how insane it is to 0 cycle on world record pace it's waaaay harder than it looks.

As a speedrunner, this wr is one of the greatest of all time. The sheer skill and brains required. Also, leaving on 5 rods on this pace is just completely crazy. And finally a wr with a 0 cycle. It is a big moment for the Minecraft Speedrun community!

FYI the reason he sits in the boat before throwing the first eye is because when you jump out you are at a specific place on the block, so the calculator is more accurate.

It's complicated. For a run like this one generally the only time that will be added beyond pure IGT is the pause buffering while measuring eyes. It was about two seconds for this run, which is why it was officially retimed to a 7:26. Settings changes *can* be timed, but a top speedrunner is fast enough that they never are, given the allowance given by the rules; and pauses at dimension load are never timed. Top runners nowadays rarely pause for anything else. Although if there's ever a top run using one of the really new dragon killing strats like ground zero or one-shot, I imagine all all the pause buffering used in those will also be timed.

For finding the fort, i’m going off memory here so take this with a pinch of salt, the bastion and the fort spawn in opposite quadrants from the portal so if you know where the bastion is, you can find the fort.

Not true, any quadrant can have any structure or sometimes even none at all. You can see the fortress when he F5's right after entering the nether. It's just hard to make out with KZread compression and because it's so fast.

I've enjoyed your videos for a while but I have to say that this wasn't one of the best ones. There's so much you could've gone into like using the home portal, going for it on five rods, the risky 0 cycle, preemptive, having to wait at the bastion, seeing the fortress when he entered the nether, seeing the ruined portal while mining the tree, the unluckiness of having to use an extra eye for finding the stronghold, and much more. I definitely like watching your videos but if you make more speedrun reaction videos, spend some more time on research because this commentary added very little.

When it spawns into the end, it spawns high above the central fountain. The very first thing it does is to head for one of two invisible "nodes" in the sky, and spiral down to a point at a semi-random height relative to that node. If it's interrupted on its way, such as by being knocked back by an explosion, it''ll just keep trying to get there. So it spirals back again and is knocked back again, and so on until it is dead. Very very similar to a regular one-cycle in this way except that the spiral pathing is more complex and it's more difficult to balance damage with doing enough knockback that the dragon doesn't break a bed or collide with the player as it comes around again. The dragon actually can just fly away, if the point it''s randomly aiming for is too far above where the player is standing. It reaches the target spot and just goes, before it gets to the player. This is why the players have to get up so high and why sometimes you can fail a zero through no fault of your own. You've gotten to the highest point it's possible to reach for that node, and it's not high enough. The nodes themselves are in different places depending on which type of end tower happens to be in that location, so there's a different setup for each type of tower. I think a couple of them can't be zeroed, but I'm not sure. Some are much harder than others. Also, 1/8 of the time the dragon goes to neither of those two nodes but does something else, and there's a whole other zero setup for that, unsurprisingly called a one in eight.
