I had made a rule for myself that I wouldn't do any villager based farms in my current single player world because it always felt at least a bit cruel and utilitarian, even knowing that the villagers are just mobs like any other. With this and your other aesthetic farms, though, I'm building a whole new villager area in a cherry grove (recoloring this tutorial to use cherry wood and stripped crimson stem) and absolutely loving it! Thank you for the design!

Built this today in my solo survival world. It’s a beautiful build, the tutorial is easy to follow, and the results are great! I actually had to remove the beds and stop the breeder because I have way more villagers than I need now! Great work, I will be recommending this farm to my friends for sure, and certainly building more of your farms!!

Sacrificing a LITTLE decoration for function, you can get a sticky piston and any movable solid block and a lever - block the adult villagers' view of the beds (top block, your head level) and they won't be able to breed anymore, making it toggleable :)

@aJackMinecraft absolutely, often you end up with empty villages houses, but when you can put your farm stuff in the houses it with both be usefull and aesthetic! 👌👌

Barrells and cauldrons are workstations, so you may want to wait to add those until you have a farmer villager. You can also add a tunnel or such under, and move the baby villagers to a holding pen 150 blocks away to avoid needing additional beds in bedrock.

Hey AJack Great looking farm as usual. I build this on my bedrock server, and for some reason the two farmers dont breed. I tried trading with them, to lock their proffession. So I could decorate the farm like you. Feed the farmers with a lot of food, to be sure their inventory was full. Nothing happened. I have made several of your farms already, since your style fits perfect for my world. Everyone is working, so I was hoping to Get this one to work too. Best regards Øyvind Seltveit

definitely building this, normally go with Logic's breeder but trying to disguise it never ends well. this looks a much better option. going with a deepslate and bamboo theme this time, seemed to work ok on your iron farm mk2

You can also make it a simple auto farm by putting hoppers below the farmland

Yes. I learnt that villager in bedrock can link to a that they can't reach. That's why you could add a lot of beds next to the glass prison.

What a lovely little lodge for your future employees to spend their youth in! I would wire rails through a slightly larger area to give the babies more room to live, but that's just me. 10/10

Hey there, really like your videos ! Reallely peacefull and aesthetic. Could you precise in which version they work tho pls ?

For anyone facing some issues even after doing screenshot thing: -Don't change the position of composter, let it be inside the wall. -there is a trap door in hole (the hole to the glass prison). There is another trapdoor above that hole, you wanna open that trapdoor and farm will work properly!

What does "open" the trapdoor mean? Have it down or up?

I added a bee nest with 2 bees and a couple of flowers to speed up crop growth. Looks great and works.

For the glass chamber, I found that by using a lever on top of the dispenser works just as good as a button, and also will power the tracks when you dispense a mine cart

Building this with new wood looks very good and romantic for the villagers.

If your villagers aren't breeding: Mob griefing must be TRUE in Java edition. Villagers cannot pick up food or harvest crops with mobgriefing off. There must be two open blocks above each bed in the house. Great build!

I found the solution!! (at least for me) if your villagers wont work or breed or farm the crops, check if mob griefing it off. It has to be on.

Question. You have Litematica in your bio, so how come you don't use it to get a material list for the start of the video? Knowing how many blocks before starting is massively helpful imo

im having the same issue as a lot of people, this build is a lifesend, both good looking and works well, but all of the sudden it just stops working, i am really looking foreward for a 2.0 version of this build with that issue removed, its been a great help in my server so far but it not working is effecting some builds

How do you record these? Like how do you get those camera angles where you are moving but the camera doesn’t?

Great tutorial! I have also built your iron farm and zombification house for my industrial district, some of the best tutorials i've ever followed and best looking builds. However, my villagers are not breeding. I replaced all the trapdoors with planks except the one in the corner, built everything exactly as is in your screenshot, but they are still pathfinding towards the bed and not breeding. I covered the gap and still nothing. Also, the farmer might be depositing his crops in the composter? Not sure whats going on, thanks for any help!

I saw someone with the same issue and I have no idea at the moment. Perhaps the only way is to let them touch the bed or even sleep for 1 night. Then place trapdoors back on the gap. I don't know why some of your villagers are so stubborn..

Hey I built this but the baby villagers don't fall into the glass tube. I've been having to take a villager out of the farm area on occassion because I'd end up with 3. Is there a way to fix this?

Helloo first of all, wonderful build ( this farm looks better than my actual base lol ) but I am having a slight issue I thought you could help me out a bit with... both of my adult villagers have jobs ( farmer and fisherman ) and the farmer villager farms the carrots as well. but they both don't breed they just keep jumping constantly :/ Some info beds are blocked, I let them sleep in the beds for one night

Have you tried giving them stacks of carrots to speed things up? They are willing to breed only when they have enough food in their inventory. It is also recommended to remove all the decoration blocks next to the wall so the baby villager won't get stuck inside the farm. imgur.com/a/BNIrmQw

had my doubts. a lot of em actually. but it really works on bedrock. just replace the trap doors with planks except the one in the doorway to the beds little buggers run right on into the prison.

Technically yes and you can put hoppers under the farmland to harvest the crops. But this is not really good for efficiency..

had a weird issue on java 1.20.1, the villagers just refuse to breed at all, they have the food and the beds, and the space requirement, i even traded to increase 'willingness' but they refuse. the only thing i can think of is adding more villagers to the top, or adding more beds, or saftey? is there something vital im missing?

I can’t get the villagers to become farmers without having the composters outside the wall. They also won’t breed.

My villagers dissapeared after a few days... did they despawn? Or did they get attacked by mobs?

I Love this build, yet my villagers will not breed (the farm villager wont farm either or lose his profession after removing the composter). I’ve tried removing the composter as well as removing all trapdoors for water except for one yet they still wont breed. They are super focused on the bed too even after blocking it off with blocks. Only time they bred was when I gave them carrots manually and let them into the bed. Any idea what I can do?

I am having the same issue! They bred a ton and I got about 15-20 villagers out of the farm, but now they will not breed and are FIXATED on the bed. I tried replacing the beds and workstation but still not working. Their pockets are full and they wont even pick up any carrots I give them so I'm not sure how to fix it yet. Maybe they need to sleep in the bed? I'll give them a bed to sleep in and see if that helps... otherwise I'm not sure lol. Let me know if you found a solution!!

Please I have an issue- I followed the screenshot instruction in the bio and pinned comment, but for some reason still having issues ... some info that might help you help me! - I threw multiple stacks of carrots at the villagers - both of them are farmers - they made two babies but now no more -i am in creative, mob spawning set to true, daylight cycle set to false EDIT: i turned daylightcycle on and still farm is not working - i replaced the two planks above composter and the one next to it with glass bc i hoped the villagers would see beds better - two blocks of air above each bed, pillows closest to vilagers - Villagers are not replanting carrots after harvesting? - i move many blocks away to watch them breed, see lots of hearts, then suddenly angry marks and no babies! Please how can I fixx this? thank you! EDIT: Think I've figured it out - letting the villagers sleep in two of the beds once before blocking them off somehow helped!

Are you playing on Java? It's good to know that it's better to let them sleep on the beds at the beginning.

at least in java edition, the button on the dispenser is enough to turn the powered rails on, you don't need the lever

Just built this in my world and it fits nicely! Thank you! One issue though, the baby villager won't try and go to the beds and fall down the trapdoor. Instead, it just stays in the breeding area with their parents. Is there anything I'm doing wrong? How can I fix this?

I have the same issue. The villagers were jumping on the chest (eventually took the chest away) and crowding around the doorway to the beds so the baby couldn't get thru and drop into the collection chamber. I'm wondering if the doorway needs to be bigger so the baby can get by the adults. Problem is, that it it'll mess with the dimensions of aJackMinecraft's design. :(

Thanks! This one actually works on Bedrock. You just need to add more beds in nearby area. Or you could use water to send the baby villagers >150 blocks away.

some of the items on the material list repeat themselves. Is that intentional?

Try to move the composter 1 block closer to the villagers. You can also block the path to bed for a short moment. Sometimes...they seem to be too obsessed to pathfinding the beds.

Thanks for the incredible build. Unfortunately I’m now having some issues despite enacting the changes in the screenshot and looking through the comments. -The breeder worked fine for ages but now appears stuck. -I have two farmer villagers, both have been traded with. One is passing the other food but then that one won’t pick it up. -They’re both attempting to pathfind to the beds quite a lot. All trapdoors are in place and I’ve changed nothing about the beds from when it was all working fine. Have tried temporarily placing a block in the way, doesn’t appear to have helped. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance

I tested it recently and I have similar issues. The farm works for a period of time and then the villagers just stop doing anything. I do believe that the issue is way more complicated than it seems. It must be something to do with the coding. It works fine if you trap them in a simple rectangular cell using full blocks. But it does not work well with all different building blocks and decorations. Could it be the fence? They would jump along the fence sometimes. Perhaps they think they can go outside. I do need to redesign this one and make a version 2.0.

I just went and replaced all the barrels and cauldrons being used for decoration with other things like a normal furnace, chests, bookshelves, a crafting table, and some note blocks as planters - and they're making babies as they ought to be. The only job block I have there now is the composter. Works great now.

Hi! I have a problem with my farm. It appears that my villagers WILL try to breed but will end up getting angry instead. And if ever they were possible in breeding, the baby villager would not try to go towards the bed thus not falling into the glass prison. I really need help! :(

Are there "angry" particles around the villager when they fail to breed? It means there is not enough bed to breed since the baby villager is still there. Did you try the solution in my pinned comment? Observe the baby villager at night. See if he is just spinning on the trapdoors instead of going to his bed.

Are there any specific list of how many items we need ?

In Java, just build it 10 blocks away. In Bedrock, most...likely...to break the iron farm...

java 1.20.1 Doesnt work. Tried all your suggestions in other comments and tried the screenshot change. Farmer doesnt farm and just jumps around in the corner. They both pick up food but will not breed.

If you have enough villager for your village, you could flip the trapdoor above the drop hole and remove the "glass prison". This house will be simply a nice villager home. :D

@@aJackMinecraft This also helped - removed all the blocks along the wall, moved the bottom trap door to the opposite side, flipped the top one up. I added a gate between the wall and the composter above the drop chute to give it an on/off method, and once I removed all the barrels and cauldrons it worked great. The babies pathfind and fall into the hole without issue, and the parents keep making new babies unless the gate is closed :)

I think it's funny that you make a house, but yet still call the villager drop off area "GLASS PRISION" ahaha

In bedrock Edition you need to have a minimum distance of 96 blocks, from your iron farm. To avoid the villagers in the iron farm to Connect to other beds.

Do you need to lock trades on both villagers?

You don't need to lock the trade. The farmer is harvesting carrots so they can breed villager automatically.

Yes, the two villagers inside the farm need 3 beds to breed. They can still pathfind to the beds since they see trapdoor on floor as a walkable surface. The trapdoor above head stop them from going in but they still think they can do that.

On bedrock, >100 blocks. On Java, >8 blocks.

I built this farm pixel perfect up to the very decorations, it works pretty poorly in 1.20.1, the rate in which the villagers breed is very, very, very slow. The adults are body blocking the passage between the baby and the hole, the baby became an adult on the farm instead of falling on the hole, with 3 adults in there the breeding stopped, honestly, i think even if the baby isnt body blocked half the time i wont even go to the hole

im having the same issue in 1.20.4 the baby cant seem to get too the beds or grows up before trying

having issues making the villagers breed, they just seem to stare at each other for a long time and then wander away. I don't think food is an issue, as they are not picking up anything I toss at them.

Nevermind, if you're playing on a server, make sure Mob Griefing is On! They can't pick anything up if it's off

That's my old BSL Shader setting. I use new setting in my recently video. Check Stobbles's video on BSL Shader Setting 2023. I use vanilla texture.

Update - so far this has been an issue for 2 of 4 baby villagers. The other 2 pathfound into the glass cell no problem.
