In this, my second Minecraft timelapse, I complete the adventure map known as Four Pillar survival. A new perspective on this adventure map, this timelapse shows the entire progression of a survival map in 25 minutes. I hope you enjoy it!
This is something I've been working on for a while. Since May of 2013, this project just got completed a whole year and a half later in November of 2014! This project went through 2 different computers, a crashed hard-drive, and 500GB of hard drive space. Overall, the recordings combine to make 34 hours of continuous video. Most of this video was sped up 144x regular speed. I'll be making a "behind the scenes" video soon, detailing the specifics of what I did to make this timelapse.

Q: How did you make those circles so nice
A: An online tool called mineconics. It's very useful for builds like this. www.mineconics....
Q: Why didn't you build {Insert building / material here}?
A: It probably wasn't in the game yet, such as hardened clay blocks.
Q: I SAW YOU FLYING! YOU CHEATED!
A: You're probably talking about when I was in the Nether. In that version, (1.5.1) when a player enters the nether, their position is offset to others in the game, making it look like they're flying. Also, at the distances I was recording from, chunk loading is weird, and some chunks won't update. This causes the the blocks I'm placing to not appear immediately after I place them.
Q: YOU CHEATED, YOU USED /TIME SET DAY AND /WEATHER CLEAR!
A: How else would I set the time to day whenever I slept without logging off the camera client every time I wanted to set the time to day by sleeping? Also, using time set day (for some reason) makes it rain a lot, and rain makes videos look bad.
Q: YOU DIED, I SAW IT!
A: Yeah, so what? I died a few times. I never said I didn't.
Q: I didn't see any Villagers in this video. Why not?
A: They are kind of hidden. If you look at 10:37, you can see where they are located. They are within the tops of all of the pillars, and there is also one on the bottom of the obsidian pillar. They were placed by the map creator, and they give out items that are very different to what villagers would normally give out (such as spawn eggs).
Q: Where's the Ender Dragon fight?
A: • End Dragon Fight: Four... . There's an annotation at the end of the video as well that will link to it when it is uploaded.
Q: Where did you get {Insert name of item here}?
A: From either a chest, a pillar, or villager trading. The end portal came from a chest in the nether, the emeralds from trading, and the animals from trading as well.
Q: Where did your animals go?
A: This timelapse was filmed from a very far distance during some shots, and as such, the game un-rendered the animals after they passed the threshold of rendering. You can see this by looking at the cows during the final zoom-out thing at the end of the video. Entities un-render before terrain does, making it look like they despawned.
Q: When will the next one be coming?
A: I don't know. I don't even know what map I should do next. Feel free to suggest one!

If you play skyblock or agrarian sky with a full inventory you are doing it wrong. Lol. Always carry just what you need at the moment so that doesnt happen.

I HAVE to rant about my thoughts a little. This totally has some kinda god vibe going on, the world was empty except for the base elements of the universe, then from it this man shaped everything, it grew and became this enormous "garden" we see now. Perhaphs the reason why God forbidded Adam and Eve to ever touch his tree was because it was from that very tree the universe was born and it held immense sentimental value to him. Also to have such an amazing and large world built by his own very hands and not a soul to share it with. Imagine all the time he spent alone building everythig.

Man, 26 minutes x 144 = 3744 minutes, not hours. So 3744m = 62,4h = 2,6days of recording. And you forgot that time aceleration stopped at 21:50 which is equally 2,15 days of recording. So, It isn't too much)

Your guess is actually pretty close to how much recording I actually did! (see description for an actual total). There was a bit more gameplay that wasn't recorded, and that wasn't put into the total (I only looked at total video duration), but yeah.

either who ever did this was multiple people, someone who has nothing else to do AT ALL, or multiple people who have nothing else to do AT ALL. I cant imagine doing this on a regular world to begin with, the fact that someone has the patience for this is incredible

This video is absolutely amazing and I watch it quite often, even when I have other things that I could watch. This video is satisfying and just overall cool. The music is good and the concept of living off of four pillars of different materials is really cool. You make it look so cool even though, when taken the wrong way, it could be really boring. It's almost been six years since this video came out and I will be here on its sixth birthday. I love watching this. Good job. 🙂 You should do this again but see if you could build further out. Further than the pillars. That'd be cool to see. Keep going and keep building. I'll be here for years to come.

bruh, i bet you get this ALOT but this was phenomenal. the amount of sheer time and effort and skill it took for this video. I am just so amazed by how conservative you were but you still added a butt-load of class in each building and made it look cool. I love the circular base at the middle and especially love the sphere with the most perfectly executed comfy little house. Dude we need more people like you playing mine craft, not those scrub 10 year-old troller/griefers. Again, youre awesome and your video contributes to the internet:)

math, very simple math, three for the smooth side, three for the edges (including the corner block of the smooth side) so like: (pretend "H" is a block) HHH H H H H H H H H H H HHH Of course this looks more like a oval because of the spacing but thats a basic small circle

Your screen is made up of small squares called pixels. Think of blocks as pixels, when you make the image large enough, the smoother it'll look! (:

Nope, I used 'Q' because it's easier on my hand. Also, I wouldn't trust duct tape with this.

This is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Take this from a 13, soon to be 14, year old teen who missed the old minecraft days, like 1.7.5 was when I got into modding Minecraft, it was also the same time I was introduced to the Metroid series, all thanks to a mod called "Metroid Cubed 3", you should try it out one day, and sometime late 2020, I reinstalled 1.7.5 and the Cubed 3 mod, first world of the mod is perfect! and there is a beautiful village in it, when I get the chance, I'll tell you what the seed for the world is, and maybe even showing a video showing the village, anyways, I hope this gets updated to atleast the most recent version of 1.16 and then 1.17 when that updates finally comes out

Well, playing a game for ~50 hours over the course of 1.5 years isn't that hard. I would play for an hour or two on the weekends and over school breaks, and that's about it.

Conrad Tardis Eh, I mainly just didn't forget about the project and managed to keep it running until I thought it was done. There were times I didn't play for 2 months, but I managed to keep it going. Setting a deadline helped.

I you have a Keyboard with a Numpad you can set the break button for example to num1 then you press this button and deactivate the numpad while pressing the button then it continues farming cobble
