You are actually right. In infinity war thor almost killed Thanos but lost cuz snap, Dream almost won but was killed by an ender trap. In endgame thanos almost won but ironman was able to snap. Dream was almost killed but was able to kill the Dragon in time.

I love that right at the start they have Dream trapped in a tree and talk about mining it down to break the leaves and force Dream to the ground, but even if they did that it still wouldn't break the planks that he made and placed there so he'd still have somewhere to stand above them
