if you out the recipe and you DON'T activate it, it can be used as a filter. you just have to put items in the order you want with hoppers a second time and activate it just once. the filter will still be here

I strongly disagree, it took you a long time to figure out a complex recipe, and that's a good thing. It will be hard to do complex recipes and easy to do easy recipes. New players don't need to be able to use every block to its maximum capacity, if they only manage to auto-craft stuff that only has one type of ingredient that's ok.

if it's 1000x easier to do it manually, then that's a bad thing. Outside of an insane gold farm that maybe 1 out of 100,000 minecraft players will ever build, the autocrafter is useless. Its easier to do it manually. Especially when you start to factor in things like server lag and tick hiccups. Every time I get something working then realize I have to error proof it, I just close the game and give up on it. Do people not have lives that they need their games jam packed full terrible game design?

7 hoppers in a row and 7 droppers into them in the order of the crafting, then just activate them together

Idk it's cool that it's easy to make certain recipes for players new to redstone, but harder for more complex one, so everyone gets some use out of it but there is incentive to learn redstone. Also like it took you 30 minutes, and once you know how to do one you can do a lot more far faster, so it really isn't that bad. Honestly I don't think they should have allowed blocking out slots so you had to use dummy items and stuff for harder recipies, but as it is think it's the perfect difficulty to get new players introduced to and enjoying redstone

5:10 no no no no. That is an absolutely *awful* idea. Turning the crafter into a 1 block solution will remove 95% of the fun for technical players, and really won’t benefit nontechnical players. The crafter is primarily useful as a part of complex farms/machinery, the type of things non technical players will be following a tutorial for anyways, so it really won’t benefit them to make it easier to use. Minecraft is primarily fun for technical players because all the weird and complex interactions between all of Minecraft’s systems makes for a really great puzzle and the way the Crafter works fits right in with that.

Its really not THAT complicated bro

I think the crafter is perfect, your idea seems like a big nono, especially since it is already very easy to make the same item by just having the setup already inside the crafter.

The worst part of the crafter is that it keeps ejecting items in an overflow condition. And heaven forbid the server hiccups especially with any recipe that involves more than two items. Just getting the crafter to play nice explodes the circuit 3x in size and complexity. Also manually crafting items is almost always a lot easier. There's only one good use case for it, and that's mega farms in places like scicraft or hermitcraft. Otherwise just manually crafting is 10x faster and less error prone every time.

Isn't it possible to just put a few items there, and then hoppers with the same items and they will stack with those already inside the crafter?

no no please no filter nono BAD!!! Crafter is perfect just the way it is!!! That's like adding an autosort feature to hoppers, takes all the fun out of designing stuff with it

I think its fine the way it is, it should be hard to automate rare and complicated items. Its mostly going to get used for simple recipes in survival anyway

It kinda removes the point of it though, cause of the recipe book you can basically Craft instantly already, and a lot of simple recipes are similar if you wanted wood slabs you'd keep getting wood buttons and pressure plates

You aren't suffering from imperfections of crafter. You are suffering because of skill issue. No really, just google a bit, how people deal with crafter. You could craft nearly everything with several remarkably simple designs.

Why cant they just leave a box with the item you want to make; so you put, for example, a pickaxe in said slot and it'll produce that? So darn easy.

but then the item would be over powered, plus you have to use your brain to create a creative solution which is what Minecraft is about, if they make it really simple then how do you learn? where's the fun? honestly how they have the crafter rn is perfect, not to hard but not to easy, this item will provide the perfect challenge for people trying to make things automatic, if they want automation they gotta earn/learn it
