Whenever you want to kill the dragon, aim for the head because it has the most damage. And also, DO NOT jump whenever you're in the centre because the dragon can easily hit you and yeet you away.

He’s able to catch up I think because the netherite armor reduces knock back, so then he can’t get knocked away when hit in a chase..
