If we ask for old features to get changed, do you think they will do it? Like making the glow squid actually glow? Or adding the stun effect to the glow squid? It would be really interesting to see if we could convince mojang to not only change new features, but also update old ones.

What exactly do you love about it? I actually hate it because it seems hyper focused on decoration (the easiest thing to implement) instead of actual game mechanics. And even if they are considered they are not fully implemented and left to rot, like copper, sculk blocks and sculk sensors. Amethysts have 2 crafting recepies, copper 3. And then the updates that add basically nothing functional for the player like 1.19 take an entire year to release. Basically what im saying: The game becomes fat, instead of deep.

Maybe it should stay like what it is now. There is a cool historic reason for an ancient flower called Torchflower to glow, but I think it would also make sense if they don't. Why? It would teach children that not everything is named after its purpose, some are named after how they look.

I never hated the update because I knew not everything was announced, it was told. Plus I love camels and hanging signs

These past few weeks have felt like such vindication for me. I like many others was disappointed with how the Wild Update was handled. But I genuinely wanted to give Mojang a chance to correct their mistakes. Though it felt like no one else shared that sentiment. It seemed like the entire community only wanted to complain and criticize Mojang for months for not showing off enough content, that the game was dead and Mojang had nothing to show for the new update. People just didn't seem to comprehend the new strategy of announcing features and it drove me crazy that no one understood, and just chose to be angry instead because it was the cool thing to do. I told people to just be patient and that Mojang would show features when they were ready to be shown. No one wanted to hear it. I'm sure it was just the loud minority but I still felt very alone sometimes. Needless to say, these past few weeks of Mojang dropping awesome and highly requested features along with excellent quality of life changes and new tools for mapmakers has left me feeling pretty smug. I hope everyone at Mojang feels the same satisfaction, because they deserve it.

The issue with that is that the max amount of light something can emit(not including the sun) is 15. They would have rework the ENTIRE games lighting system, daytime light, moon light, plant light, and item light. Changing how light works in Minecraft by that much would throw of, and upset most people. Even if they simply ignore all the framework and give the plant a light output of 30 it would make no sense and would be overpowered, which would make the game easier. And Minecraft already has an issue of becoming to easy, so, thinking about everything it becomes obvious as to why that would be an insensible idea

Pretty much no one hated 1.20 before the Cherry Groves, except for those that were still upset over fireflies. Now even those who hated it for no reason have even LESS of a reason to hate it.

i think some people just hated it because it’s supposed to be a big update but they announced only few new things at the first announcement. i think this approach is actually better because like mojang said, they dont want to promise something big and not being able to deliver it in one update so they took it slowly this time.

Personally, this update still adds nothing for me so I just see it as worthless. The cherry grove seems like a biome that is insanely hard to find and the sniffer is just there like most new mobs from a mob vote. Archaeology I might do because I was waiting for that, how long ago?

​@@Wylde_ well mojang can never really satisfy everyone at the same time, a redstone or combat based update would make the builders and explorers upset, and vice versa, and so they try to satisfy most of the playerbase, and often features like cherry blossom trees satisfy alot of the community, as a builder myself, i love it, and for explorers and casuals loved it too.

To be honest, I never hated the 1.20 update, I was hyped for everything that was announced at Minecraft Live and I much preferred this way of only announcing the features that are guaranteed to be released in the update as it meant that when more features were announced after Minecraft Live, it made me even more hyped for the update!

I think there should be an special mob for the Cherry Blossom biome

Yesterday I opened the launcher and I saw The thing about cherry blossoms, I went crazy (Same With Archeology, But I went More crazy)

Ok but hear me out, hanging signs are better than every other feature announced and if we only got those in 1.20 I think it would have been the best update Mojang has ever made. The fact that they needed to water down the update by adding so many random features and make the signs a smaller feature of a giant update proves how truly powerful they were. Honestly a little dissapointed the people weren't just happy with hanging signs. Best decoration ever, give us more sign variants please. O and uhh I guess the video was good. Take a like XD

Not everyone is a builder, restoners and combat oriented players would see hanging signs as some useless novelty when theres already the ordinary sign to fill that role too, i dont share that view as a builder but ive seen many share the same sentiment

I've been watching your videos and streams for over a year now, and I just want to point out how much your content has improved. it was great before, but now it's somehow even better. thanks for the update coverage and fun, casual, and unique videos for so long. also, thanks for including that donkey clip, he deserved it.

The sniffer is my favorite mob in recent times. The Copper Golem looked cool, but it served no other use than being a glorified item frame. The Rascal had a unique gimmick that I kinda liked. The Rascal was my 2nd choice if the Sniffer didn't win. I just picked the Sniffer due to how beautiful and big it was. Also, it gave us new plants. What more could ya want??

The fact that large updates aren't a thing anymore is a letdown but if mojang can pull off 3 small updates a year with surprises and worthwhile changes, it might make up for it

I think, because of Mojang listening to the community's feedback and changing things because the community had mixed feelings about it. (As Knarfy mentioned with the armor trims) That this update has a very high chance of being called "The Community Update" And if, you think about it logically. It makes sense like, take the new default skins they're based off of races and not every person in the community is white so, they changed the skins to match their community.

I knew this was going to be a good update when they announced how they were changing how updates work it basically means most updates from here on out are going to be 100% guaranteed and awesome

What i love about this update is that it's mostly modded content being added to the vanilla game, aka things players wanted enough to make it themselves. I really hope they'll continue this so we just keep getting things we want, mostly little things becuz it adds up

I really like the approach they took with this update, by rolling out announcements for new features about every week, because it keeps the hype alive and gives you something to look forward to each week!

I was completely shocked by having a new wood set in pink. This is fantastic!

the cherry blossom is just perfect. i love the pink so much and im looking forward to it !

I remember going through so much work just to figure out how to download a cherry blossom tree texture pack for minecraft when i was 9 years old. It makes me so happy that they're finally being added into the game. I'd honestly still be happy if that was the only feature added

I loved the update from the start! The sniffer!! Hanging signs! Chissled bookshelfs!!!! CAMELS!!! And now also Archeology, cherry blossoms and so much more!

My thing about how the fan base has responded is that there was no redemption, nor was there failure either- Mojang had all this *planned,* it’s just the a majority of the fans couldn’t be happy with what they were given, even though they weren’t happy when they showed too much either. It’s not a surprise that a snapshot came out so quickly, because they said everything they showed had *already been developed-* it’s like people didn’t even listen to that bit and assumed the worst Mojang can’t win against its own fans at this point

I’m so excited for this, but when are they gonna remove the chat reporting system? I’m still not over the chat reporting system.

What i wish they add as a feature is the abillity to pot tall plants like rosebushes,lilac in vases i think it would be realy cool and we could have custom vases with cool shapes and plants

I think that the main reason people thought the update was going to be bad was because they didn’t expect many other features from Mojang to come out later in the snapshots. After all, the last update was literally 2 biomes, one of which was promised years ago

I’d love to see the torchflower admit light it would be so cool/mystical plus be wonderful for decorating different types of vibes for rooms like it glows orangey red would be very nice

This update will definitely be called the decorative or customisation update. New decorative plants, wood, default skins, armour, tons of stuff that doesn’t have much use outside of aesthetics, but it sure is neat

It would be awesome if they added a japanese-style village to the cherry-blossom biome, I think it'd would look very pretty with all the petals falling around the houses

I have personally loved this update form this first day it was announced. It’s the first update that has felt like Minecraft for me in a very long time.

I think this is like the greatest update too because there are 2 new mobs, 2 new wood sets, new armour designs and even listened to the community

I love how they just added Archaeology and The Cherry Blossom biome out of nowhere. It makes me think we could get bundles again after 4 years.

And think about it you can beat the game in like an hour if your main goal was just beating the ender dragon. You can get full iron armour and tools in less than 20 minutes if you felt like it. Just let that sink in, iron armour is all you really need to beat most of the content in the game especially with a shield. Progression is way too fast. I think they want minecraft to be more about creativity but they're just leaving the more combat oriented players with barely anything

What really changed with this update (and 1.19) was the lack of theme. The last few years, we had updates revolved around something : - 1.13 : Aquatic Update - 1.14 : Village Update - 1.15 : - 1.16 : Nether Update - 1.17 / 1.18 : Caves and Cliffs update People are now used to this and expect updates with themes, revolving around one aspect of the game, such as the "End Update", "Desert update", "Deep dark dimension update", Redstone update", ... While the new updates lack a theme, we are still getting some amazing features

Not being restricted to a theme lets Mojang add a variety of features to the game instead of adding features to just one biome instead. I have no problem with themed updates, but this is a nice change of pace.

I mean, they did say from the very beginning that they wouldn't be announcing all the features before they were properly developed, the camel and bamboo logs and hanging signs were always just meant to be random additions

I hope the torch flower *doesn't* glow. it would limit it's applicability for decoration, Mojang already stated that the mystical stuff is named as if there was a explorer who discovered all this stuff already (chorus fruit because the breaking noise, warped wood because the way it grows, torch flower because it looks like fire)

@@dudeofdudovia it isn't about using torchflowers over torches it's using torchflowers as flowers. If it has a low glow it's a spotlight so no neutral spaces or overgrown spaces, if it has a high glow it's a accent so no detail. On a forgotten treasure room you want the treasure to be the focus and the surrounding to set the mood, a glowing torchflower could work to show the path but wouldn't work on the room's overgrown because it would take away from the focus

I think it would be great to have it output something like a light level 3. So it doesn’t take the place of another light source, but it’s still a fun side effect of the item!

This is the 7th video that suspicious sand has been referenced to among us. Will 1.20 revive that game? Dad comes back with the milk: No, son. That's ridiculous.

I feel like what makes a great update is that it may make earlier versions seem less appealing, take 1.16 and 1.18 for example, 1.15 was a cool update that added a lot, but 1.16's nether updates made the nether so much more fun to explore, so if you choose to play any version between the two, you'll probably choose the nether update, same thing with 1.18's caves. Armor trims are such a fun cosmetic feature that I think it may be one of the primary features that gets people to choose it over 1.19 or 1.18.

Anyone else noticed that the new mobs have much more animations, maybe the 1.21 update could remake every animation for mobs and players, if you dont like it you could turn it off

psst yeah yall reading this, you can make the whole world into a cherry grove on Java, its so relaxing.

One of the best things is that developers changes things really quickly. This is good and I think, that this is easier for them, because they don't need to work with a big "pile" of feachures they added, and they more likely will have less bugs.

Mojang is doing really well with the Updates, but i think they should add more to the Progression to balance everything they do to make it easier, something like When you beat the Enderdragon harder mobs will spawn, and maybe also Netherite only spawns after you beat the Dragon.

IM SO HYPED FOR THE CHERRY BLOSSOMS!!! 🌸

There's definitely a difference between "listening to community feedback" and "adding things because fans want them". Based on what we know about Mojang's design philosophies I don't think we'll ever see another dragon mob, as they'll likely want the Ender Dragon to feel like a one of a kind mob that makes the boss fight feel more distinct. So even though child me wanted the red dragon more than anything and I love dragons even as an adult, I have no hope that we'll ever get another one. There's always Ice and Fire for that, I suppose.

I just hope there can be a way where you can get new things from updates easier in survival since I usually travel a lot and to find blossom biomes ill have to travel further. I wish I could update the world without losing everything

With the new way these snapshots are being made, it’s feeling a lot like the secret weekly updates that were made back at the beginning. It give a lot more excitement towards new features and more satisfaction + engagement in the community

Cherry tress were an intended feature for a way earlier release by a prominent Mojang developer back in the 2010s cherry trees were seen as a feature to never get added some features getting added are most likely those old features that were intended to be added are being revised for the newer versions of Minecraft such as fish being a proposed feature back in the Alpha updates that was later added to the aquatic update

For a while I didn’t like 1.20 because I was sad it wasn’t an end update but now I’m excited for all the stuff Mojang is adding to 1.20.

woah i wanted a way to personalize armor and its announced for 1.20, i'm so happy there's finally a way to make your armor cool

just had an idea for the pots allow them to contain liquids for safe and decorative keeping

Honestly I hate the trend minecraft updates have become nowadays: Its all just eye candy. Almost nothing adds actually new functionallity to the game. Look at shulker boxes, elytras, Honey blocks, bubblecolumns or Observers, and compare them to copper, amethysts, goats, sculk and the tons of decorational blocks. They just dont add functionallity. This aint Animal Crossing! Dont get me wrong, 1.10 was also a purely decorational update, but it took them just over a month to implement it. Thats the difference. 1.16 was released January 2021 and what are the actual meaningful features since then 2 years later? Worldgen overhaul, moss and allays. Thats it. 1.19 took an entire year and literally added nothing useful for the player apart from a new place to explore. Thats just lazy and nothing else.

I think this strategy of telling the players what they have done so far then springing new content and then modifying it to what they want is better. Hope they keep it up.

it would be cool if mojang made it so that you can dye the symbols on the pots depending on witch side you used the dye on

It would be cool if later they added stands and stuff where you could dig up bones and combine them to complete skeletons to put on display

5:40 if the plant could glow like a torch it would be even more powerful

What if not only could torch flowers glow, but you could use them to brew fire resistance potions too? It'd give alternative ways for players to equip for the nether without having to rely on the nether solely for potion brewing items. In general, what if ancient flowers that the sniffers dig up could also have other purposes and features related to their names?
