Hearing "the Bow tie man is the go to person for Redstone tutorials"... How!? I'm an idiot 😂 But like you said in the vid, there are lots of insane redstoners who never do anything with their builds, so it's great that people are slowly starting to make content for it 😅 Thanks so much, well put together video. Also... I'm sorry for stealing your top spot on 3x3s 😮😅

given bedrock's universal nature and more efficient code (how much of that is using C++ rather than java and how much is better optimisation), it'd be nice if the reliability of java redstone and the faster pistons made it across even if some of the other stuff didn't. movable tile entities seems like both a blessing and a curse depending on what you're doing. i do prefer the java ui though
12:45 - I prefer to term these types of farm “growth-tick abuse” of which “zero-tick based growth-tick abuse” (or “zero-tick growth abuse” for short) is a subset.

I call them forced update farms.
First of all, thanks for the shoutout I wanted to say that observers have a 2 tick delay for the first 3 in a chain and then a 1 tick delay for the rest (roughly). Also, on the topic of weird pulses on bedrock, if you build a piston based monostable (repeater going into piston set to 2 ticks and repeater set to 1 tick going into block before it extends) and change the timings to 3 ticks (for the repeater going into the block) and 1 tick, on the falling edge you will create a pulse that works in the opposite way than the "0 tick pulses" that I mentioned.

Yes, Can really relate to the "it doesn't work" experience. I'm part of a coding community where people ask question, and some of them just say "it doesn't work" and doesn't provide any details. Others just throw some random code and expects us to complete the rest of it. So annoying, At least put some effort onto it before giving up.

Somebody: "It doesn't work!" You: Sees a semicolon is missing
0-tick means a redstone pulse that takes 0 ticks, similar to 1-tick, 2-tick etc. 0-tick farms are farms that work with 0-ticks and 0-tick piston doors are doors that work with 0-ticks. The bedrock "0-tick farm should be called "3-tick farm" bevause that clock give 3-tick pulses. In the ovserver with sticly piston thing can be called a 0-tick pulse, but it is kinda useless compared to java 0-tick
Bridging the gap between Java and Bedrock Redstone will be the best way to ensure it'll work first time, beyond manually checking over it and comparing to the tutorial. In my opinion, the Java's piston mechanics and Bedrock's movable storage blocks should be consistent across both versions.

it should probably be said that the weird psuedo 0-tick can also be done by having an observer running into sand with a piston facing upwards, redstone dust next to the sand on top of an opaque block. I probably did a terrible job making it WAY more complicated than it actually is.
i remember building a 3 by 3 piston door, i decided to make my own design and it was soo big and bulky that it took up half of my base. i still wonder how it worked, it later broke itself and still stands in my old world till today,

The weirdest redstone misconception I've seen so far was from a bedrock youtuber briefly ranting about a 'bug' where observers will clock pistons that they're both observing and powering. However, this behavior also happens on Java and gave me a lot of pain when I first got back into redstone.
There's a way to make unlimited distance wireless redstone (it uses loaded chunks). The way it is done is using torch clocks and controlled by a particular torch/piston clock.

I agree, when playstation switched to bedrock it forced me to buy a pc. You could push buttons around with pistons on ps4 java edition though, which I miss.
I used to play bedrock edition and was part of the technical players that just didn't post about the technical stuff I did but ever since I switched to linux I kind of had to use the java edition which sucks because I like the movable tile entities, no quasi-connectivity, and redstone redirection into pistons which the java edition doesn't have. The pain points I experience from both are different but at least I have more tools at my disposal in java to diagnose issues than I have on bedrock with mods.
A lot of what you said can’t be done in bedrock can be done but you have to do it differently

Console is the perfect version, c'mon why Mojang didn't make they all with same mechanism
I figured out how to do 1 tick pulses (sticky piston spots out it’s block) you need to have said block be a slime block and hit it with a stalagmite, which will cause it to stay in the same spot
The "It didnt work thing" I can relate to bc I did the redstone padlock and it didnt work, I relooked it and I made it backwards on accident
Honestly a mix of both would be nice, each of the good from java, and the good from bedrock
The 0 tike thiny isnt powering the 2 lamps at the same time
You have to use the 3 6 Redstone dust for double piston extenders
the doulbe piston for bedrock just have different repeater timings than java. so it does exist
Yeah inconsistencies is the main reason why I move from bedrock to Java, just imagine troubleshooting it, that'll be torture.
I Love piston randomizer cuz of s gambling games that U can make
I swear in the video that the instant repeater doesn't turn the light on and off at the same time.
You can also use levers on pistons in bedrock, just like in the legacy version
My issue is that it *does* work... until I save and come back. Then it stops working and I am not skilled enough to figure out what Bedrock broke.
"holy spinal pain" - youtube captions
Ik that a lot of redstoners dislike not being able to move tile entities with pistons, but sometimes it's pretty nice when dealing with slime and honey
I was just making a giant xp farm and I just realized my bud switch is impossible to make
I warn you, DO NOT watch this video with subtitles
we call the farms zero tick farms cuz alot of ppl think it is zero tick cuz they think the random tick speed is broken and the world think it is glitching the world to remo e the random tick speed that grows plants etc to 0
oh god he didnt even mention the flying machines in bedrock.....
Everyone always says movable containers is soooo good but no one thinks about the restone implications try working with flying machines and not having easy access to immovable objects the negatives outweigh the positives
Lol the 0 tick pulses sound effects

7:00 that can be actually used to generate a random number dang
14:20 Do you think it uses 0 tick pulses?
The only reason piston budding works in java and not in bedrock is because when Mojang made the piston, Mojang copied the code from the (I think) iron door. In bedrock, on the other hand, Mojang redid the entire code for the piston.
I play BE and legitimately liked the video before it even started playing. This topic needs far more publicity from both sides of MC, so hopefully Mojang will see this and decided to not let the redstoners of BE die out.
To explain Java zero tick (I’m on bedrock) it also uses update order. In the Minecraft code all the repeaters do their math before all the comparator because code runs top to bottom and the since the repeater was added before the comparacter it’s earlier in the code
@rednc325
3 жыл бұрын
Not really. Comparators power later in the tick because of "tiletick priority", which is the order in which components power within a tick. 0 tick monostables which rely on tiletick priority aren't used much at all too.

LOL I am a bedrock redstoner. But my builds are very huge
Ok, but on the topic of asking if something still works, if someone just says “it doesn’t work” without anything else, I get that it can get really annoying. But some people are asking if the red stone still works in newer versions. And that’s not the redstoner’s fault and they should not get offended by it. It’s because the red stone changes in an update sometimes breaks stuff. Especially stuff that uses weird quirks and glitches. Anyways, I just wanted to point that out
So you don't know about the sand method on bedrock?
Honestly i respect this, not flaming the other side because its not the same.I have played both and every side thinks the other is stupid which is untrue both sides are fun and the redstone and features are different which is kinda dumb but its still minecraft and minecraft is fun on either sides
Yup said it all good but I would like to point out that on Java the the budding with 2 high pistons is because of something most people cal quasi connectivity and it’s just that pistons check if the block above them are powered in Java.
Btw way double piston extender is is 3 6 0 for the ticks

@@williamludwick77 Sure, that's a good point. I'm not really sure why it's so different.
