Short of bamboo or cherry wood, any kind of wood is okay for the waiting room couches. And re: lighting, you can use sea lanterns or Verdant or Pearlescent frog lights, but shroomlights, glowstone or Ocher frog lights are recommended only if your goal is a creepy hospital from a horror movie.
