Hey! Vsauce! I am here. Time is linear. That is a fact. Also, you cannot change its speed and you cannot pause the universe... or can you? *Vsauce music starts* Well, time is still linear with the new snapshot, because it cannot be reversed. But, you can change its speed and press pause by saying, "/tick," then freeze, unfreeze, or "rate" followed by a number.

Maybe it is possible to have the player fall at normal speed, but if not, the lack of jumping wouldn't make it look too much less cool

If you are doing more slow-motion videos, then here's an idea. Do the same thing you did at 3:22 and just make a chain, like the falling blocks get blown one direction, then get blown into another direction!

when i tested the sand getting launched thing it was on bedrock which might have changed the mechanics of it.

Yeah that would make sense! I think also I didn’t quite set it up right. Looking back I probably would have just gone to a desert and spawned a bunch more TNT. That probably would have done the trick. Great idea regardless! Thanks for commenting 😝

It isn't working because it only launches sand when it's falling - it launches entities, to be exact, so ANY falling blocks. For example, if you could setup falling netherite blocks with no gravity, you could have something like a shrapnel So, for example, do super slow tick speed, do a big cube on slabs, light TNT, break all slabs in the right moment and you have it

That Intro is going to be floating around in my Head for about the next 25 Years

That final bit with the TNT gave me an idea for a minigame. Everyone has a fishing rod, and all the players start next to the TNT. It's lit, and the goal is to get away; but between fishing rods to pull people back and punching them, you have means of keeping others near it. The goal would be to get others blown up without dying yourself. Could be done elimination style, tournament style, or points based on rounds survived.

Didn't carpet mod have a /tick command that you interacted with exactly the same way (/tich freeze, /tick unfreeze, /tick rate _n_ )? So basically it convinced Mojang that Minecraft really needs this feature XD

Yep! It was similar in a lot of ways, but if I remember correctly, it didn’t simulate the player in slow motion. Just the world. So this is a super fun change!

You can use the debug stick to set a Shrieker to "spawn true" and it spawns wardens even in surface.

Here's a really cool (and kinda satisfying) effect that also involves particles: Step 1: Freeze time Step 2: Break a bunch of blocks, it could be anything (the more detailed the better) Step 3: Step 1 tick Results: Now you got a bunch of block particles and it looks really cool

I may not be a long time subscriber, but knarfy is by far my favorite youtuber

Imagine if Minecraft actually went visually slow-mo and put you in third person on the death screen every time you die... would be hilarious! XD

Get like very good pvpiers like clownpierce, sharpness and MinuteTech and then make them fight with each other on slow motion. That would be amazing

Can,t wait to see the fight 4x faster, it would seem like everyone had a fast reaction time

This is also cool for TAS. Tool assisted speedruns where you can do everything perfectly. Before you needed mods, but now you can film a video on lets say 1/8 speed of normal tick speed and then in editing you can speed it up by 8 times to make it seem like you did everything really fast

You should add hitstun to Minecraft using the tick command and see how it affects how it FEELS... to play Minecraft. ( Hitstun is where the game has a very very brief pause when the player hits something, adding impact. In most games with hitstun, the amount of time of the stun is longer for harder hits ;D )
