I’d think this would be a nice touch that Mojang would add to Minecraft considering that they don’t show other stuff that you need to do to beat the game such as teaching you how to build a Nether Portal. I imagine it would be a setting called “NPC Guide”, and you can turn it on and off at anytime.

It seems like herobrine's code was found and repurposed to make the npc which explains its abilities It also looks like the soul of some previous tester of this snapshot was fused into the ai which is why it sometimes acts like a person that thinks you are the npc who should be helping it

excluding the "glitches", this could be a cool update that mojang could do, where in the option of creating a new world, there was a toggle npc/buddy option, that would guide you through the game and if that was added, one thing that would be really cool, would you to be able to customize your buddy, like a custom nametag, and skin

The thing is this accully once happened to me: so i was playing peacfully,minning diamonds then lut of nowhere a guy named "NPC1" chatted to me "its not safe outside at night"and the strangest thing was i was in single player and when i got up i saw him then i tried to hit him with my diamond sword but he didnt tale damega and he siad "why would you attack a friend" i tought it was a hacker so i left the game and deleted minecraft then i forgot about minecraft untill i saw a video about bees and i downloadet minecraft again and suprisingly i still had my old account with the same world and i joined found him and i remembered why i deleted minecraft and i deleted the world
