Btw if y’all use an entity culling mod like i do, remember to add the train entity to the appropriate whitelist in the config so the train doesn’t turn invisible unless you use optifine and are okay with turning on custom entity models

with the mechanical bearing on a circle that has train tracks, it will not work, due to the train tracks being immovable objects

I love the fact it's so similar to factorio's train signal system, the fact it copies the coloured-block-while-holding-signal feature to visualize blocks is so good

BEWARE when building large locomotives, especially steam ones. You WILL NOT be able to build large locomotives without its turning being rather jank. Pro-tip: use flywheels as decorative larger wheels

You could also create nested bogeys under the front and back of the main carriage. So, like, the main body covers them both but they are independent from the main carriage.

The train observers may be useful in another way too. If you are on a multiplayer world or SMP etc. and there's an illegal item to transport, you can put those just before the train station, so when the train stops, the people can get arrested. Probably on big servers. Also if I made a writing mistake, forgive me: My main language isn't English.

Just without the chain signals, but I'm sure you could recreate them using redstone.

This Update definitely added many more possibilities to create.

This train system is very similar to Factorio train system so I recomend checking factorio tutorials. PS. I recomend building roundalouts instead of normal cross sections

if it works on factorio logic, roundabouts are awful, extra calc time and collision risks

This has huge potential for potential wooden rollercoasters that aren't just like regular minecart rails.

I randomly added this mod to my modpack and didn't realize you could make trains until I was looking for something using REI and chanced upon the train items, I was immedietly entraced and decided to scrap all my og plans for my survival world to drop everything and make a train. In case anyone was wondering how to get items and fluids on/off assembled trains, you have to use portable storage/fluid interfaces. You can only load and unload items in vaults, and load and unload fluids from tanks

I don’t know how to link several trains but I think you meant to link carriages? If so you have to have a 3 block space between the bogeys. Hope it helped if it’s what you meant

Apart from the custom skins and train models in the older mod, this looks like a much more robust implementation than Immersive railroading.

Thank you. I initially placed the platform (train floor) part wrong and was stuck in a loop.

What I'm curious about is if those trains can operate doors automatically without being disassembled at the stations as it previously was.

Any idea on how to rotate the train on the track? Using a wrench will only move it and keep it in the same direction. Is there a way to rotate a train or i have to build turn around loops all across my track.

On the Fabric version they aren't compatible. You have to use vanilla portals at least for now.

When i use the display it is showing the seconds until departure but not how long it takes to come, does anyone know how to fix this?

Biggest question I'm still wondering even after messing around with trains is how do I couple a train engine to a carriage I made? Or is couple two different trains together not possible? I build a huge Class 37 Diesel and a Mk2 Carriage to go with it so I'm hoping it's possible to couple them.

It works well! You can build a track off the side of a track line to make a split, then you can use a/d to choose which way to turn.

how do i couple 2 trains together

Is it possible to make like a hand crank engine for like a old-fashioned truck like a truck you use a hand crank to start ?

could anyone help me with a problem? I crashed into one train with another train and the one I crashed into can not be relocated with a wrench nor disassebled and the wheels are just turned into the side. Is there anything I could do to get the train to function or pull it appart?

I guess you would only be able to filter before going into the train, so let a buffer chest recive items you want the train to transport and then fill the train from that chest

yeah youd need to filter before it goes into the train, tho also it doesnt transfer items if its in an unloaded chunk so idk how useful itd be for long distance stuff
