This community is so freaking talented wtf
After watching all of these builds, I have realized that I do NOT specialize in city building or urban planning, but hey, it’s cool to see these unique and impressive builds. I am much better at boat building
Cool video ! Was nice to see all types of building styles, with different texture packs and sizes 👌

As a student of urban planning, I have some additional tips for the streets at 7:00... #1 Yellow lane markings shouldn't be dotted, they should be continuous, and should divide the direction of traffic. #2 The white lane markings should always be dotted unless you're building the road in a tunnel, or some other place where you don't want cars to change lanes. The white markings should be 3 meters long and separated by an 8 meter gap. #3 For building road shoulders, I recommend using quartz stairs, with the lower step facing the edge of the road. This enhances the realism by making it appear that these lane markings are only half a block thick. #4 Although having wide roads can enhance realism, 3 block wide lanes are perfectly reasonable, and are in line with real world safety standards. If you were building an interstate, 4-5 block wide lanes would make sense, but since you are constructing a human-scale mid-rise city, 3 block wide lanes are perfectly acceptable, as they would have the effect of reducing speed.

I don't think it was the intent in the build, but just a comment abt dotted yellow lines: where i live, a dotted yellow line indicates a section where overtaking is allowed by crossing onto the other side
That's my city on the thumbnail OMGGGGG!!!!

Great work!
So, Alpine, I have three questions: I watched your video on curved roads and I wanted to know how I could make a longer or more gradual curve, possible even diagonal? I also wanted to know how you make good interchanges. And finally, what are your tips on building interstates or highways?

Same. I have my own method i've haphazardly developed, but i want to hear what a real engineer thinks
I’ve been watching since you were under 10k and just started watching again for tips on building in different games. Thank you 🙏
Tip on texturing (I'm not that great, but I have tips): My first tip is doing gradients. It's one way to do gradients. If you watch Grian, the Minecraft KZreadr that does hermit craft, he does gradients. It's a really nice way to make the eyes go up on the building and back down. If you're doing the scatter method, if you want to have moss, make it go from the top if you have trees or something, but if you don't, start at the bottom as if it's like vines growing up in the bricks. If you want to, fill the whole wall, then where it feels repetitive or plain, add detail (texture) to it. It's about trial and era. You wanna have the right amount. Not too much, not too little. Hopefully you understand. I'm not too good at explaining things. Especially when I'm not too good at it myself. Love your content. Keep up the good work!

Been on a minecraft binge and my guitars getting restrung tonight so these videos while im on minecraft help alot👍👍
I’ve really enjoyed this video and your series of this so far! You should definitely continue it. Also, if I’m not asking too much, I was wondering if you could possibly make a video about building realistically believable vehicles (without using mods)? I’ve installed your Cubed Community’s resource pack, and am excited to see what I could make of it!
love the way u didn’t discourage a newer builder in #19, instead giving advice so that they could further their builds.
Great video! Love seeing all the different builds and what you think of them as well. That first "flatiron" building looks like it's US Steel Tower in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I think it's still the world's tallest flat roofed building..?
Awesome video as always! I have a question, can you possible make a video on highways? Mostly on what to do and what not to do.
The two bridges (twin bridges, 2:01) are the Brooklyn Bridge (brown) and the Manhattan Bridge (green) in NYC, they are right next to each other IRL and span the east river. I'm from NYC and I can say they look pretty accurate!
I made #17 - thanks for the feedback, looks much better now! :D
A fantastic video as always 😀
Great video! There are lots of lovely builds here.

My city is in the thumbnail
I'm not good at texturing but you can use WE to do it for you, with for example //set 45%materialX,35%materialY,25%materialZ. That randomly mixes the texture using several block types at the same time. Saves a lot of work if anything. You can vary the number of blocks and the percentages. It works with any command where you set or change a block (e.g. //replace etc.)
Hi, I'm the person who built #9 and #11 theres 2 different texture packs actually. The small houses in the hills, and the rowhomes were on a pack called TRS v2.4.0, and the main st and the duplexes were on a pack i somewhat made called BMC v1.0 (Block Mason Community), thanks for the compliments on the main street :))) The window trims are I think crimson fence gates so they have to be w/e'd to be permanently on. It's was on server I made a long time ago but I took the map off cus I really didn't like the city anymore so it's gone to time Anyways ty for adding my submissions in

I love your houses, it reminds me of Troy NY.
Because you wanted to know how to structure a wall. Go with a few blocks that you want to use that go well together. After that you could do it with World Edit and then make some fields with the same block out of the random pattern. Otherwise you could do it without worldedit and do the same
The third one is an 18th to 19th century design found in Britain and France.
if youre talking texturing in terms of flat walls or walls that can feel very plane. i get a selection of blocks that are the same color/ feel then fill my hotbar all the way with them in an order then every time I place a block o just flick the scroll wheel selecting a new block. really great way of randomizing a flat wall. there are also programs you can get to auto scroll so you can place massive walls quicker with this technique.
Yeshhh new video!
