(AMAZING book series you should go read it, it also was adapted into a show )He is mentally unstable from something that happened in his past (I can't say what it is - spoilers) which causes him to mix up his words A LOT. Mostly the first letter of two words. Like if he was trying to say 'giant diamond', he would accidently say 'diant giamond' and another example is that there is a place in the Wingfeather Saga called 'the Green Hollows' and he called them 'the Heen Grollows'
