    10:07 actually if you throw wind charges while you jump, it can make you jump up to 7 blocks high, that's why they added that feature.

    From my own testing I managed to do 7.5, it did take many attempts to reach that height though. The trick is to jump directly after using the wind charge.

    Are you sure of the 7 ? While trying to wall jump, i managed to jump 15... 🤔 Edit : i realised it can be from 2 charges... but i didnt touched the floor while doing it so.... Parkour😂

    The wind charge is such a fun item, you can even hit your own charge with a knockback sword to make it faster or change its trajectory, I feel like this item will change parkour maps so much

    jumping and trowing a wind charge at ur feet at the same time makes you go super high ! (its a mechanic borrowed from games like quake, unreal tounament and tf2, its called explosive jumping or rocket jumping)

    It’s not a mechanic, it’s just game physics. You get a certain momentum from your jump and another certain moment from the wind charge. When you do them at the same time you combine those momentum numbers together to make a bigger number. Like imagine if jumping is 2 and wind charge is 3, doing them at the same time would make a bigger number of 5. It has an exponential effect though so it makes a much larger difference than that.

    @@JoshyRB this is indeed how it works, tho it still is a game mechanic, because, it may have been an oversight turned feature in quake, but in later games and right here in minecraft, those physics have been purposly coded in as essential game mechanics

    New attributes are great for custom armor sets for datapacks. For example, it allows us to have an armor set which reduces a fall damage and increases the safe fall distance, or a heavy armor that increases fall damage, or a special type of elytra reducing gravity. That's oddly specific vatiation of things, and i love it. Also, this dispenser contraption gave me an idea of a very long-distance wireless redstone transmitters, because Breeze charges can activate redstone levers and buttons. You put these dispensers and then build a giant wall of buttons ("receiver dish") which would catch some wind charges spreading from dispenser and give the redstone signal. Imagine those insanely big radar dish structures suited for recieving and sending a wireless redstone signal over like 200 blocks. It's hella impractical, but my gosh it is epic.

    I also think the gravity attribute really fits the end, I'd love to see it added to the end. 0.04 gravity just feels right in the end and gives it its own identity

    I realize this would eliminate a lot of the challenge, but I've always felt that the void should have null gravity. Even better would be _Super Mario Galaxy_ / _Le Petit Prince_ style physics where "down" was always towards the center of the end islands, and not only could you _build_ sideways but trees would grow "up" on all sides.

    @@viedralavinova8266 i definitely agree with you on this. it's pretty clear that for a while they've been working on something in the background, and although i cannot say for certain that it is an end update, i think something big is coming. the new attributes are also really fun and i see a lot of potential for them!

    @@martijnp yeah they said that they were going to be working on the developmental side of Minecraft to make it easier on the dev team when adding new things, and all these small things like the attributes could either be them working towards something big, or them trying to include stuff whilst restructuring.

    2:00 the hopper minecart is under a container (the barrel) so it's interacting with the barrel and not searching for items. This isn't new behavior. Try it with a non container block.

    OH MY GOD THE GRAVITY CHANGE!! I remember relying on buggy levitation effects in order to simulate low gravity, but it always felt a little wrong. I'm BEGGING for a Minecraft Map Renaissance with all of these super impactful attribute changes!

    9:41 X, you're missing the point of that line, it means that whenever you're hit by a wind charge, your fall damage height will be reset to that height. Which is huge for cancelling your fall height, you can actually save yourself from a fall more consistently than a MLG bucket save, as long as you're throwing one at your feet before you hit the ground.

    Also it greatly contributes to rocket jumping as you won't constanly take fall dmg from using it to boost yourself high And yes, you can actually rocket jump with this, Xisuma just didn't realize you need to jump while using it for the momentum

    The wind charge recalculating fall damage makes it so that it will cancel your fall damage if you land on top of it- if not for that feature, you would die from fall damage even if you used one to slow/cancel your falling speed. That is why it was added, not for explosion jumping

    You can actually rocket jump with it though. He just didn't realize that you need to jump first since it adds momentum If you do it properly, you can go over 7 blocks in height

    You get more jump-height from the wind-charge if you jump and fire at your feet. Also it toggles switches, trapdoors etc like the Breeze's wind attack

    Interesting changes! Those gravity and falldamage attributes feels like the groundwork of either a new dimension or a potential use for the End dimension (this reminds me of the moon gravity from last April fools)

    It makes me think of yhe old Gulliver mod, where you could do things to make the player bigger or smaller. Bigger players had longer reach, took more fall damage, etc. Now we can do all that in vanilla!

    It would be great if the Wind Charge could stack inertia within a radius without inflicting direct contact damage, so that we could create machines that could launch players or mobs in a variety of trajectories without necessarily killing anything.

    Here's a couple cool ideas for wind charges: Combine 8 Wind charges around a shield to create a propellant shield. All projectiles blocked will be shot back in the direction of the player as if they fired it themselves, and melee attackers are knocked back slightly. The knockback depends on the weapon used, as axes, which can disable shields are knocked back farther than swords Add a wind charge to an arrow in a fletching table to create a gust arrow. They can be tipped like normal arrows, but they are propelled off the bowstring and travel 50% further (By reducing the gravity/fall of the arrow), and have increased velocity, which means the arrow will deal more damage since arrow damage is based off speed, and it will be easier to target far away enemies due to less drop in altitude over the longer distance And finally, a Gust enchantment! The book is a reward from treasure vaults only. It allows players to consume a wind charge in their inventory to get a double jump, which can only be used once before touching the ground again. You could also make it so you have up to Gust III which each level allows one more jump before touching the ground, which would allow players to jump 4 times before hitting solid ground again. You could also make a different effect of the enchantment, which would use wind charges to be able to dash/dodge horizontally, making it a quick and effective tool in combat. Honestly, I might even consider learning to mod just to add these!

    10:08 if you sprint and jump and time it just right, it can launch you above 10 blocks high from my tests. But it can be tricky to time it just right

    i really hope they make the wind charge send the player using them higher - ender pearls are teleportation projectiles so being able to have a rocket jumping projectile would be really really fun for minigames or just traversing places in general

    If you time your jump right the wind charge sends you flying, like 6 blocks or so. It's really cool but xisuma didn't figure that out in the video lol

    actually, when you use it right after you jump, you get much more height, i tested it a bit and i was able to get up to 9 blocks of height :) also, jump boost does increase the number by a lot!

    I dunno if I just play TF2 too much, but the way that the wind charges interact with the player and enemies almost reminds me of rocket launchers and how you can blast enemies and yourself into the air with it. Imagine if you could do Direct Hit-like airshots on enemies knocked up by these to do extra damage!

    wind charges not hurting you unless below the original Y value is probably because if the values with gravity are ever messed with you'll go flying and breeze isn't meant to be lethal in that way. I wonder if you can exploit the fall damage thing to create a contraption with elytra where you can effectively launch with elytra at a low level and then eliminate fall damage

    The fact that the minecart hopper isn't picking items above barrels is normal, or at least has been so before this patch. It's trying to collect from the barrel itself and ignoring the rest

    To add to the many people pointing out that jumping right as you launch yourself with the wind charge gives you a lot of height, *You do not take fall damage when you land on the same height, even if you launch yourself to about 10 blocks.*

    The Wind Charge actually can push you up 9 blocks if timed correctly! You can go up 9 blocks, and fall 11 blocks with this currently. When you use jump boost, you do +2 blocks vertically, and you can fall 1 block more. Example: Jump Boost 2 = 13 blocks up, and you can go 4 blocks down from where you started.

    For the hopper change- please check if a _chest_ minecart inside of a block on top of a hopper still sends the items down. I suspect the hopper wasn't picking up items from the hopper minecart, but was instead being _sent_ them by the hopper in the minecart (push, rather than pull).

    The wind charges can in fact shoot you higher into the air! It’s dependent on how much you’ve jumped into the air when you launch the wind charge. If you’ve only just jumped you’ll go higher, if you’re at the peak of the jump, you won’t go as high. If you don’t jump at all, it’s barely at all.

    you can scale walls if you time the wind charges and get the right angle. I also could get up to 8.5 blocks with one wind charge by jumping right after, up to 14.5 blocks with 2, and 18 with 3

    Honestly it would be cooler if we were able to make a weapon out of those wind thingies and THEN use that abbility. Imagine a Wind Sword, with small damage up close, like smaller than wooden sword, but when used for range it deals a lot more damage. It could like slash the air and send wind gusts.

    theres some cool use cases with this item, for example they trigger on cobwebs so you can continuously boost yourself across a cobweb floor without touching it if you do it right

    1:54 I'm pretty sure that's just because the block above your hopper minecart is a container (barrel), so the minecart is interfacing with the barrel instead of pulling stuff through. It's always been like this as far as I'm aware, it should still pull items through if you place it under a non-container block.

    The gravity attribute modifier has so much potential for custom maps. Also for the wind charge you should be able to use it as a sort of double jump if you aim down while in the air which would be super cool for parcoring.

    The gravity, jump, and fall distance modifiers are things i have been thinking they should add for a really long time, so i am glad these are now in the game and i hope they don't forget to add it in some way to Bedrock edition, like they did with the creative mode inventory reorganizing. Additionally, with the Fire charge and Wind charge now both being things, i feel like we should be able to throw the Fire charge, i always thought that was something you could do before i actually started playing the game, but it's not. I kinda feel like you should be able to throw a Fire charge because otherwise it's kinda just a flint and steel that instead becomes a snowball with the attributes of TNT but only in a dispenser. Apart from that, i wonder if we'll get more Elemental charges later down the line, like Water charges or Earth charges or something. Doubt it but maybe? We'll see.

    Wind charges are really interesting for maps... Cause they are a projectile that shoots directly forward with no dropping off... Using command you can make them explode, shoot thunder , or turn them into straight up blace fireballs or tactical nukes

    the "fall damage is calculated from the point of the wind burst's impact" could be used to throw one close to the ground after jumping from a high place, so you get puffed up a bit and land safely. I notice the Wind Charge uses an actual model for the projectile though, I wonder if they'll ever update the Fire Charge to match or if all fireballs will continue to be a glossy PNG forever

    Btw the wind charges can launch you higher , you just need to jump when you are firing one at your feet and the better you time it, the higher you go. Also they can interact with redstone. For example someone already made a secret door activated with a button behind a wall.

    I think the wind charge would be a great alternative to fireworks for elytra. Then pair this with not taking fall damage when affected by the wind charge. It could be a nice later game alternative to firework where you are much less likely to take fall damage while using elytra. It also incentivizes the player to interact with the trail chamber even if they have no use for the loot it provides!

    I think the wind charges travelling in a straight line may cause lag issues. imaging throwing loads upwards so they never hit anything, there could be so many entities and nothing you can do about it. This is unless they despawn or something, that could also fix the issue.

    Yes! Finally! The armadillo keeps its head in it's shell when rolled up. Now it's a 10/10. And that head sticking out at the end is super adorable.

    I think the most interesting use for wind charges will be with levers, buttons and trapdoors. it could let us remote control redstone for the first time.

    I hope they keep adding stuff like the editable attributes and stuff. Hopefully they can add more world settings while they're at it adding stuff like that. Would love to be able to change the exact percentages that certain structures spawn, settings like that would be great. Especially for realms.

    loving the new technical features and changes! people complain about minecraft updates being too small but for me personally as someone who enjoys technical stuff and making maps and data packs they all feel pretty substantial to me. those are really the things i get most excited about in minecraft updates.

    setting the gravity strength lower and using a wind charge on yourself could send you farther into the air but the y-value part means you won’t take fall damage coming back down

    My personal research has found that if you time it correctly, you can get around 9 blocks of vertical jump with these wind charges, so that's a lot of fun

    Buffing the HP of wolves is a good start, but I really think the biggest problem with them is how much they get in your way during pitched combat. I propose two changes: 1) Wolf armor not only improves their defense, but also makes them immune to sweeping attacks from swords, or even outright disables friendly fire from their owner. This could maybe be customized with a gamerule to extend to friendly fire from players on the same scoreboard team as the owner, or even all players across the board. 2) Wolf AI is tweaked so that they attempt to flank their enemies with their owner/pack-mates. So rather than attacking head on, they will prioritize attacking from a different angle than their owner/pack-mates. Along with this change I'd also suggest maybe decreasing the amount of knockback dealt by wolves, just so that they don't end up knocking enemies into their owner's face.

    If they change fire charges to be throwable, like the wind charge but maybe shorter range, then it would add an actual use for them other than automatically turning on a nether portal. Also if they add other elements, like an earth charge, then I'm sure someone would make a noteblock machine to play Earth, Wind & Fire's song September.

    The wind charge reminds me of the secondary fire of TF2's Pyro. I think it'd be nice if you could put out flames with it (please feel free to give that feedback to Mojang if you agree.)

    So i think this is foreshadow to compat update, but wind should double (maybe triple) damage if target is on fire and maybe this way fire charges will also be throwable. Reminds me of those cool magic rpg games x3

    It would be really neat if the Wind Charge could activate certain redstone things in its AOE, like the Breeze's version. This could make for some neat little contraptions that you could activate from a distance. But, I could also see it being a little too strong since the range is as far as the simulation distance. Perhaps the inaccuracy would account for that. It would also be even easier to accidentally/purposely grief a redstone build with a stray charge.

    I really hope all the new attributes mean they are planning on adding unique items (like the crab claw would've been) to alter your character build essentially. That would make the game way more fun and each player more unique IMO.

    You have to use the wind charge st ghe ground right after to jump to gain more height (you can julp also a normal spruce tree)

    I think wind charges should be compatible with goat horns. perhaps you can charge a goat horn with a wind charge (kinda like a crossbow) to give the charge a boost, boost the volume of the horn (which also alerts the warden), etc.
