On first impression these woods look the same as any other but look closer and the sign of a once busy industrial area is visible, from tramways to large and small relics of mining, engine houses and chimneys. Clitters Tin and Copper mine runs from the base of the valley, right up the hillside, linked by former Inclined Tramways.
