Mindset is Everything | Cole Bennett | TEDxUIUC

Cole Bennett came up with the idea for Lyrical Lemonade while still in High School. Through his talk, he walks through what it took to grow Lyrical Lemonade into what it is today along with how he navigated the music world. His talk emphasizes why having a passion for what you do can change the game and bring you success no matter the obstacle. As CEO of Lyrical Lemonade, Cole Bennett has produced some of hip hop’s most viewed videos. Entrepreneur Cole Bennett is not afraid to confront risks to move ideas and creative expression forward. Growing up in Plano IL, Cole enjoyed bringing ideas to life. Whether, creating comics or making skits with friends, he always loved to create. At 17 years old and a senior in high school, Cole produced his first music video. Discovering this deep passion, he founded Lyrical Lemonade while still in high school. After graduation, Cole moved to Chicago to attend DePaul University and further chase his dreams for Lyrical Lemonade. Cole’s dreams quickly became an undeniable reality that led him to dropout of college. His imprint, Lyrical Lemonade, is now a multi-faceted company that specializes in visual content, live events, high demand merchandise and more. At the age of 22, Cole has now directed over 300 music videos for some of the most influential artists that have amassed over 2.8 billion views. Cole has been featured in major publications such as Rolling Stone, Forbes, XXL, and Billboard Magazine. As the Summer approaches, Bennett is exploring another adventure - preparing to enter the beverage business with his very own lemonade. The lemonade launch is just in time for the second annual Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash, a hip hop music festival expected to bring together 20,000 people in Douglas Park, Chicago. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

@J. V notice how all these people are saying "respect to Cole for the moment of silence for mac", do you not realise whats actually happening??? cole knows mac fans would say that, so he did It for that reason cause it makes him feel like hes a good person, and he knows others will view him as such. that may not have been his direct intentions but underneath that's whats actually happening

I'd never heard of him but I was intrigued so I watched this when I fell down the rabbit hole of binge watching Ted talks. He has such a nice nature, he seems really sincere and he talks complete sense. No ego, just honesty and it makes his talk so much more powerful to listen to. He comes over as just an ordinary guy who achieved his dreams and now talks really modestly about it, admitting how hard he worked and the determination and sacrifice it took to get there. Amazing talk that really struck something within me.

Finally a talk that is informative by going through the stages of success. This guy expressed his downfalls and his lucky breaks and took us through what it takes to do something, actually do something. Good talk, I hope he is still doing good. From his persona he sounds like he is still young at this talk. But it comes off with the same way that it would if he was talking to you in a living room privately. When you hear it like this you do believe that anyone can do it. But not everyone can, it depends on every second of action and with luck to become something that you can be happy for. Thank you.

Positive mind. David encouraged himself in the Lord. Tap into your mindset when you need it, those hard times. Look at glass half full not half empty. Optimistic. Not pessimistic. Appreciate things. Be grateful always. Give thanks to God always. Mindset is key 🔑. You can truly do whatever you put your mind to. Truly.

I first discovered Cole back when he only had 1500 subscribers. I knew this kid was speical. The way he edited videos differently. I directed/edited music videos too and was inspired by his work. But, then I saw him brand himself. From how he got all these chicago rappers to host their videos on his channel only. I just couldn't understand how he convinced them. I saw his vision from the get go and knew this kid is going to blow up. A couple years later. Millions of subscribers. Millions of views. A brand. So young. This kid is a genius to be able to orchestrate all this together and execute. He was dropping videos faster than I can shoot and import the files on my computer. This kid is going to be great and go even further in life than just lyrical lemonade. He's only in his 20's. Watch when hes in his 30's or 40's The resources, the branding, the networking, the connections he has built and just a genuine, honest person. No doubt in my mind this kid will be a billionaire someday.

I've been working this mindset for the last few months and it has helped me exponentially! I'd love to say I'm doing what I can but my biggest killer is procrastination and getting the motivation to create.
