Since I had to give a lot of presentations in college, I used to feel a lot anxious but I actually could control it and prevent going blank. After a few month I even learned feeling anxious before giving the actual presentation. But about two days ago, I felt a lot of anxiety in the start of my presentation, my voice was shaking badly, I was making mistakes and my mind kept going blank and thinking about negative stops at the point that I was struggling getting the words out. So I stopped for a moment and said that I was sorry and that I was so anxious. Our professor said it was okay and made a joke that I just don’t need to care about other students and think that they don’t even exist because they don’t really matter. I felt better and started again but my anxiety kept going up and down again. In the end I was okay and back to normal me and the professor said that I did so good. But I can’t help thinking about that day. I really thought that I had overcome this stress but with that happening I felt like I was weak again. It was a really weird moment for me. I started to think maybe I should start using medicine. But I know that it’s all about my mind. Because I’m too more afraid of fainting or of people to notice my anxiety and think I’m weird. After watching this video I feel better thanks to you.

Thanks, Raiz, had one of those blank-out moments, at a Toastmasters event in front of just 3 people but it was my ego that created the issue. I was put off by only being given 2 min to speak while the other 3 had at least 10 min and instead of taking the 2 min and speaking to the questions being asked (tabletop speech), my ego would not allow me to think of anything else but disappoint in not being able to speak for longer with the content I had prepared. I kept thinking to myself, how do you wow the audience with just 2 min. My ego at that point, made me look not impressive but incompetent. Note to self - leave the ego at home.

A great reminder how the ego can be our enemy when we want to connect with our audience.

Hello Riaz. First of all thanks for all the useful information in this video. I'm currently suffering from something which is ruining my life. Can you help me with that ? All I would ask is a quick privet chat if possible. won't take your time more than 20 minutes. Please ♥
