    @ 1:25 i do think you made a small mistake. You 3bet to 15k leaving the short stack with an under-bet if he shoved, meaning the SB could've just called knowing you can't raise. Other that, great show as always

    but how does that change anything???

  • @TheCod3r

    @TheCod3r

    Жыл бұрын

    @jipperensen2375 I'm just pointing out an observation. If you allow your opponent to see a flop cheap with a hand like 9Ts JTs, even hands like A5o etc they're going to be more incentivized to call, because the action is closed and they know they're not going to get squeezed. Add the bounty value in and you're more likely to see a call. If the opponent smashes the flop, they got there with little risk

    @@TheCod3r I’m trying to understand what you’re saying, but in my head that doesn’t change anything. The shorter stack has like 19k so is either gonna fold or jam all in. The 15k is the right squeeze against the bigger stack

  • @TheCod3r

    @TheCod3r

    Жыл бұрын

    @jipperensen2375 yeah for the shorter stack it's fine, that player is pretty much shove or fold. That's not really the problem. The problem is that Spraggy 3bet from 5k to 15k, which is a 10k difference. If the short stack can only raise to 19k, that's less than the normal min bet. That creates what's known as an under raise. It's a rule in poker where if a player can only bet less than a min raise, and the remaining players have already previously acted, they can only either fold or call. They can't raise. That means if the short stack under raises the other player knows 100% that spraggy can't raise him off his hand. It allows him to see a flop for a very small amount, and gives him a great price to call. If he smashes the flop, great, he can continue. If he misses, he simply folds. It basically removes spraggys ability to realize his equity. What spraggy should've done realistically is just raise to an amount which puts the short stack all in if he calls. That way he can realize his full equity and not have to go to a 3 way flop with the potential of being outdrawn cheap with a vulnerable(ish) hand like AK. If spraggy had for example aces or kings, great, he can do that to trap, but any under pair, suited connectors and standard hands which you'd sometimes want to see a flop with do have good equity against AK. Hopefully I explained that properly lol

    @@TheCod3r bro i understand the concept of spraggy not being able to reraise, but that is so irrelavant here, the bigger stack could call for the very same ‘cheap’ price if he did reraise to the shorter stacks max, so it’s bs what you’re saying here. The bigger stack still has the option to fold call or raise in both occasions
