Thanks for the cost comparison. Wondering if thr cost per KWatt includes the standing charges? I cook with induction in Canada and can never go back. The benefit of a cooler kitchen, faster clean up and heat up has me not looking at options.

Have you stopped using the electric pressure cooker. would this meal be cheaper done in that. instead of the open pan one the electric hob which allows the heat to escape

Thank you for your question. The electric pressure cooker is by far the cheapest option when it comes to electric cooking. (If you’re cooking under pressure, that is). However, the induction cooker is cheaper than cooking with regular cooking hobs (hot plates) considering its working mechanisms and how it heats up the sufuria (cooking pot). It’s only the surface that’s in contact with the sufuria that generates heat and not the entire induction cooker surface. In this way the heat that gets lost via radiation is reduced.
